I had no idea DC had the highest HIV/AIDS statistics.

It's so depressing! The free needle program is waste of taxpayer's money; but I imagine the problem would be more visible if free needles were unavailable. Americans love to have problems like these out of the public's eye; that way we don't have to care about the unfortunate (losers) drug users.

The needle program is the worst idea. I don't want my taxdollars going toward some Druggie that always needs his/her fix. How bout we round the SOBs up, stick em' in seperate rooms for a period of time until they're off the smack.

And Newsflash, AIDS will still spread because people like "Tyrone" don't like to wrap it up when getting wit da hoochies on a Friday Night. You also have the homos as well.

As a Human Service professional in the Wash. Metro area I beleive that this would be a good measurable way to insure that clients are contacted in reference to returning for results. We must insure that this doesn't give us a false sense of one-on-one contact. Many of our youth/adults are becoming victoms of these fast result/return times. It has in many cases begun to replace the personall contact that is paramont to this battle with the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Our youth/people need personall contact-not a faster way to get it over with. There are some whistles that should go with this announcement. Mainly the need to talk with someone if your neg/pos. Then and only then does the work begin. Education/risk factors can not be overlooked.
