This draconian law was based on fear and ignorance about HIV and AIDS. Striking it from the books was long overdue.

Are you kidding? Those visitors with HIV/AIDS are likely coming from countries with far better health care already. Stop being ignorant.

This is just another ingnorant step of OB. If you know anything about what has been going on in Ohio and the rest of the US just ask for the statistics on TB and the new strain that has been brought here that is incurable from other countries. They will come here, get ill here, overpopulate our hospitals, ER's and will be a burden to our already burdened healthcare system. Who will pay for their treatment? Will it be the taxpayers of the U.S.? Half of the poor citizens of the U.S. can't even afford they're own healthcare and now we will be expected to take care of the world's HIV population!

This cracks me up. You are calling another poster ignorant and you can't even write grammatically LOL. There are at least 4 mistakes in that statement. Believe it or not, some countries actually DO have much longer lifespans than we do in the US. HIV/AIDS research has come a long way in 20 years and this research is done worldwide, not just in the US. Many with HIV do not develop full-blown AIDS for many, many years because it can be controlled through drug cocktails and specific therapies. Plenty of good HIV/AIDS research is going on in the US and Europe you ignorant fool.
