This is a outrage!

Someone has finally died. I guess this is what happens when a place is forgotten by its government and allowed to live with ideas of the past. Let's be honest; this is what has happened. Throughout a childhood in McDowell County no one person or organization has really grappled the idea of diversity. It saddens me I can't move back home because of the injustice in McDowell County whether it be in the form of small town politics or something as important as diversity. It is horrible that a person who was himself was turned away by those who serve and protect. That is the issue...do McDowell County officials only serve and protect those people who correspond to a particular "brand"?

Well, first NO person has to aid not assist anyone anymore, First AID and First Responders are qualified and well educated in first aid, and properly equipted with the nessary tools to aid those in need, If the shoe was on the other foot and i was a racist, would you let me die? If i was a gay basher would you help me? The main scope here now is that YOU do NOT have the "RIGHT" to be assisted by "anyone not properly trained" and sadly said medical aid does have the propensity to be turned down! as they say "Treat them and Street them", its not guarteed anymore! Sorry!

Well, Pat. The fact that you have difficulty writing a sentence or spelling words correctly makes your stance rather unsurprising. Yes, if anyone was in distress, I'd apply CPR - regardless of their political beliefs or previous "crimes." Secondly, as a military veteran, I've been trained to help anyone in need. Would you suggest that I withhold such aid simply because the victim has no “right” to it? You must be a fundamentalist Christian. Your moral stance is certainly consistent with such beliefs. Perhaps, before I give aid, I should ask if he or she has been “saved.” Also, a police chief who IS trained in CPR was on the scene and DENIED treatment. Such behavior is criminal and certainly violated his oath to God to serve and protect. But then I would suppose that the hicks in West Virginia see it as just to let another fag die. |

Jim - I just love the way you make yourself sound all high and mighty. I actually thought you sounded like a really good person. However, You showed your true colors when you decided to genralize with the word "hicks". I guess you Mighty Texans' could never have a bad apple in the mix. I, on the other hand, withold judgment. The media can turn a story any which way they wish. This may or may not be the case in this specific instance but either way I would never generalize about my fellow Countrymen as you have done.
|
||||
Good point, Jay. However non-judgemental I strive to be I have always run into a streak of internal prejudice. I've no doubt this is true for you as well. My button really got pushed when someone actually attempted to assert that one in medical distress has no "right" to be treated - even in the presence of trained personnel. The generalization of "hick" to West Virginnian's was not a good choice - and there ARE "hicks" with such self-righteous mentalities everywhere - especially here in Texas. So my rant sounded very much like your "high and mighty Texans" LOL! I guess we have some predudices in common ;-) |

What a dumbass and homophobe of a cop.

I find your anti christian remarks offensive.....
any true christian would sacrifice self to help save another human, no matter what his illnes or lifestyle. Christians are to be Christ-like and follow His example. Jesus came to heal the sick and the lost. He healed lepers, the blind, the immoral, etc. There was no prejudice in Him. If He were here today do you honestly think He would not give aid or help or heal a person dying of Aids or any other ailment? He healed many and performed many miracles, and only asked that you repent of your sins and sin no more. Please keep in mind there are good and bad apples in every crowd, and the bible says there will be many false teachers in the end times. Do you think homosexual sin is any worse than heterosexual sin before marriage? I think not. Sin is sin. Period. We are all sinners and in need of a savior. Christ is the only one who offers eternal salvation. All you have to do is repent of your sins and beleive in Him. If you do, your life will be dramatically changed. I know mine has. May God and peace be with you all. |

My remarks are not "Anti-Christ", however they are "Anti-Christian"... at least for those who “Christians” profess to know and love Jesus, then turn around and judge others. They’ve given Christianity a bad name. I find it common for Christians to transmute such comments, collapsing them into a generalized anti-Christ sentiment... And then unlike Jesus, take offense – judging and condemning someone such as me rather than “hearing” such comments as accurate and feeling compassion for those discriminated against by self righteous Christians.(WWJD?) If you remember, the only people Jesus railed at were the Pharisees and Sadducees who cared more about others' morality than their own. Few fundamental Christians I know remember Jesus' words "Whatsoever you do unto the LEAST of my brethren, you do unto ME." (my emphasis). By the way “Christian” should be capitalized. |

I agree with you but to err is human and this cop is human and so was the guy that died but some people have fears and aids real and aids is scary. I am a christian and I'm not judging any one, our sins ... if it be premarital sex or gay sex or overeating or even telling a little white lie is sin, but I don't know what I would have done in his situation either. |

excuse me to ERROR is human

I don't blame the cop....you never know where a gay persons mouth has been...(vomit)

Weather the officer did or didnt stop the cpr from happening, what is to say the man would have survived anyway. Yes there should be some accountability here, there are protective measures the emt's could take to ensure there is no transmission. But the simple truth is, if everyone would do a little research, HIV or AIDS cannot be spread through saliva. And if the officer was not going to continue CPR himself, why did he stop the friend? No one has stated one way or the other though, if the cpr was enough to sustain life or not????? As for your comment joe in cassville mo, you are just plain ignorant. God help you if you ever need cpr and the only one around to administer is happens to be someone stricken with that disease.

Jim Carter, are you a school teacher? git over the spelling and the cApItalaZtioN thingy.

i don`t want to judge the police officer or the gay man,but we should give help when it is needed to a gay person or to a police officer. if it were the police officer needing help would he want help from a gay person? i would think so.

Can you imagaine if everybody at World Trade Center was gay when the buildings were popped on 9/11? Would we have still gone to war? What OTHER LIE do you suppose America and the Bush Administration, and his Republican constituents, concoct?
And now to respond to the pinhead called Pat. Let me assure you that WV is very well known to be a state full of hicks. I know because I worked with them in the military, and their ways and customs and language are indeed, white-trashy. West Virginia doesn't even have an NFL team! They're not even known among other states like Texas and California, NY, and others. West Virginia is a hick-oriented, low-level.... low everything LOL state. And yes it is an embarrassment to the good Ole USA. Can you imagine getting here on a blog and not having the capacity to structure a sentence, not to mention the misspellings Pat placed here. I'm not quite sure she/he HAS a high school education. LOL |
||||
Please dont judge every one by one person or even by a couple. I am from WV and there is white trash in every state and I do have an education, and if there are any misspellings in this it is partially because it's 4 am here and I'm up getting a court case ready for in the morning. There is ignorance in every state... actually there is a little ignorance in us all. And as for the gay bashing crap , God is the only judge that counts. Life would be so much more enjoyable if we all just minded our own business and stop caring who is gay or who was screwing who! My Bible says to love your neighbor, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and to not judge others. |
||||
|
To all of those who are judgeing the cop maybe you should think twice before you judge anyone. You don't even know this cop or the truth behind it all.
|
||||
|
Maybe you should think before you judge anyone, you don't even know this cop or if this is even true. So maybe you should think before you speak.
