sex after hernia repair

I had open mesh surgery for an inguinal hernia over a year ago. I have been doing fine. I wanted to know if any guys that have had the same surgery, noticed any change in sex. Have you noticed a change in the amount of sperm, the color, or if it shoots out or dribbles out? Anything along those lines.

r u taking flomax or similar drug? it can cause retrograde ejaculation where the semen either goes up into the bladder or just dribbles out. if you stop the drug it'll shoot again.

Yes, and I have spoken to many other males with post-ejaculatory pain or decrease in ejaculate after mesh surgery. Increased fibrotic reaction from the mesh or direct trauma during your surgery may cause entrapment or injury to the spermatic cord, or the vas deferens and other surrounding structures. Injury to the surrounding nerves is a devastating injury with typical poor outcome. Find out if you had a heavyweight mesh implanted, the product name and lot number. Good luck,

i had mesh surgery oct 05 and noticed a decrease in sperm over time until almost nothing comes out but bubbles then followed by pain on the side of the surgery was performed. i have been to many doctors telling me it not caused by the surgery until now. one doctor said this is a side affect of hernia surgery. well, at 35 no kids i think my doctor should have told me about this major problem.

I also had open mesh surgery over a year ago and al is well. My sperm had a color change for awhile. Like it was clear and yellow for a while. Now I shoot out white and I ejaculate more and I forget to add I have lots more pre-cum too ...Years ago I had inguial surgery on my other side.....But that was before I got pubic hair and etcs..This time I have pubic hair and etcs... I didnt like the side effect of being shave.... and before the surgery my scrotum like, A milk cow equipment. and being a nudist my wife didnt want other people seeing me naked with my huge scrotum.....

I have had an inguinal hernia surgey 3 weeks ago and the results were phenomenal. I had more erections than before the surgery or the occurance of the hernia. Ejaculation was the same and sometimes more potent. I had oral sex just after 3 days without encountering any pain whatsoever. I was always careful not to push or have any pressure on the surgery area. After 16 days from the surgey, I had sex with my wife. I used the method which entail my wife bending so that I regulate the way I move in order not to have undue pressure which might affect the surgery line. Ejaculation was very strong and the color was normal. The line of the surgery right now had almost disappeard. I still have some buffiness in the surgery area and numness when I touch the surgery area. I still have a little bot of pain when I turn in bed but this pain is almost negligible. My balls are fine.

I noticed this almost immediately after surgery.
Anyone else? Anyone out there tried to correct this with surgical repair?

I had a unbilical hernia surgical repair in 2001 and my wife got pregnant eventually in 2004 after many tries. Then I had an epigastric hernia operation in 2005 and my wife got pregnant in 2006. My sex drive is unpredictable. Sometimes it is very weak and then at times it is very strong. My doctor told me if I urinate and the waterflows freely for 20 to 30 seconds give or take without reluctance, then I am okay. I developed an old habit of masterbation and this helps to keep some sort of sex drive. I'm pleased to see other men being vulnerable. I am now age 45.

I have some junk in there 12 days after my surgery. Kind of worried. I have been able to ejaculate fine but I have more erections. Testicles don't hurt only the "ridge" hurts. That is what the incision part is called the Healing Ridge- like a roll of quarters. Was worried because the swelling didn't go down until about 10th day then started to go down more. Still have pain moving from 1 position to the next.

I had bi-lateral inguinal hernia surgery back in February, 2011. I normally wake up with an erection(just a part of being a man). However, after the surgery a couple days, the erection felt funny. I had a right inguinal hernia repair under local anaesthetic. Operation went fine, though I did feel some tugs and pricks during. My adrenaline and endorphins kept me happy throughout. Right leg felt like a tree-trunk for the rest of the day. Pain in moving around for the next 3 days was a motherF******. Honestly, even with meds, pain was sharp and I swore I peed myself everytime i moved. Right testicle felt like continuous "blue-balls" for nearly a week. God forbid if I ever sneezed, pain like someone putting yr nuts in a vice. Had sex four days after surgery, doggy-style with the wife, and definitely took it easy. No noticeable change in semen production, though it appeared runny. Masturbated on dAY 9 with no problems or pain. Stitches still in, dressing is changed very five days, no real bleeding or infection. I made a "skirt" with a plastic bag and some cellophane tape which I use to stick it to my stomach above the cut, so I can shower without getting the dressing wet.
In short, do everything in moderation, LIFT NOTHING, learn to dress sitting down, grab onto anything or anyone to help you sitting or getting up. Explain it to your kids if you have, my six year old was pretty scared to see their "super-,man" in pain...he just didnt know if to hug his dad or help.

I had an inguinal hernai repair four months ago and it's still sore. It was done by placing a mesh arthroscopicly on the inside of the abdominal wall and fastening it using eight absorbable tacks. When I have sex or masturbate, it feels like the mesh is about to come loose. Does it really take that long to heal or is something wrong?
