I was diagnosed the antibodies to HP by a blood test.
I had had very strange incidents, and I now understand it all. I get a bloated stomach, sometimes pain in the duodenum area, and very bad back ache from the toxins the HP emanates. it hurts to lie down, and that is terrible, when all you want to do is to lie down.(I feel like throwing myself off the balcony...)
I started growing broccoli sprouts, and on taking some during an attack, I was cured after a couple of hours. Woke up next day feeling absolutely great. the sulforafano in broccoli kills the HP. It is absolutely true.
but I get reinfected from my nose and mouth area. HP can get up there, they say, if you have reflux. I know I have HP in the ethmoid sinuses, because, I had a very bad cold, starting in the throat, and when it got to my nose, and I couldnīt help swallowing some of the mucose, it absolutely infected my stomach again. this has also happened twice after having my teeth cleaned from plaque by the dentist.
I know broccoli helps, and I have just ordered mastic gum from Greece. but my problem is really, that I need something to kill the bacteria in my airways, nose and bronchios. If anyone has any suggestiens, Iīd be greatful.
Love from Milia.

I was diagnosed by a blood test. My doctor put me prescribed an intense triple therapy of acid blockers. It helped for a while, but then it came back. I'm still suffering from H. Pylori. I can't even go out to eat with friends because I'm worried I'll feel sick to my stomach after my meal. I also don't like feeling sick in public I'd much rather be at home. I must admit I do feel a lot of this is my own fault. I honestly do not eat right. I love pizza and creamy sauces that really do me in. Plus I have smoked tobacco on and off for quite a few years, and now that I've quite smoking again and now I feel even worse because I'm detuning from cigarettes. I can't win. Today I didn't even smoke and right after my sandwich I started feeling sick, but it could have been the jalapenos I ate. The only people that can benefit from this virus are fat people this sure would get them to stop eating fatty foods.
Anyway, I want my stomach of steel back. One thing that has been helpful is the herbal supplement Licorice root with the absence of glycyrrhizinic acid I found it at GNC. I'm sure it would be more helpful if I was diligent about taking it everyday. In the past when I was consistently taking the root, the herbal supplement really worked well. Raw Ginger root helps alot. I cut it up and put it in mint tea and it really sooths the stomach. I learned about ginger root and papaya juice when I was in Jamaica. Celery soup has helped me too.

I hope this helps someone out there who is suffering.

sincerely,
Joan

Dear Milia,
I've been surfing Internet in search for answers on H. Pylori and found your post. I have already got serious atrophic pangastritis as a result of the infection and had two unsuccesful treatments.
What was interesting was your mention of sinus problem. Could you please send me your email to mstefanovic2002@yahoo.com? i would like to ask you for advice and exchange experiences.
I hope you will be able to respond.
Best,
Mirjana

Hi, I am 45 years old and a female and I have had H. Pylori and I think that I am getting again. In 2005 I was nauseated almost everyday. I thought it was my sinuses. I went to two different Doctors and no one seem to know what it was. I then started to belch up an acidity taste in my mouth and knew this was possibly acid reflux because my Mom had it. I finally went to my own Doctors partner and her nurse told me it sounded like H. Pylori. They did a blood test in February of 2006 and said yes I tested positive. I have no clue how I got it. They put me on 1200 mg of antibiotics for 7 days and then prilosec twice aday for a month. I actually started to feel human again. Well now its June and I have been having the nausea again, its been on and off for about a month. I can't stand this I have to eat little portions all day to be able to feel okay, then after an hour I feel sick again. I made an appointment to go back to my Doctor this week. I was told it would be gone, but you would always test positve for it. I started today taking acidophlus, I read that might help. I just don't know what else I can do. Anyone out there feel the same way. Teresa

I was tested positive for h-pylori more than six months ago. I was prescribed the triple therapy but have not taken it because of so many on the internet saying it is not a good idea because of resistance and it becoming even harder to eradicate. It seems that this is also confirmed by the people posting on this forum. I am currently taking oil of oregano and dgl. I have tried manuka honey, mastic gum, reishi. I was able to tolerate those things. I tried lactoferrin 250mg and it made my blood pressure rise, which I have a problem with anyway. I tried colostrum and I think it caused extra GI troubles of which I have plenty. My GI problems cause me to be unable to get a good nights sleep, which I have had trouble with all my life.
I don't have nausea or stomach upset like some of these people mentioned. I have pain and burning in my upper stomach which usually feels better after eating. I have been drinking several glasses of soy milk at night so that I can sleep(sometimes it helps) I just this week realized that the soy milk may be what is causing a new problem --- gaining weight in my abdomen only. Soy goes against the thyroid. I am trying to quit the soy milk but the way it feels right now, I won't be able to sleep.
I have bought some broccoli seeds and plan on sprouting them and trying that soon. I read that you need to eat 3 1/2 oz per day and that is a LOT!! I am also taking rice bran oil but maybe not enough. I have not yet tried gamma oryzanol. Another thing that I have seen lately is cranberry extract and oregano combined. Another thing that is supposed to help eradicate it is turmeric. It is supposed to cause the h-pylori to not be able to attach. I have taken turmeric in the past but not for this bug. I don't remember why I quit but it was after just one or two pills, so I am expecting to not be able to take it.
I have so many health problems but feel that this one needs to be addressed immediately since it can cause stomach cancer. I have mercury poisoning, irritable bowel syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity, insomnia, depression, noise sensitivity just to name a few. I also have hypothyroidism and am trying to find a doc who will give the right medicine. I will not take synthroid.
I hope I am sending this correctly. I also hope we will all find an answer and be well.

I have taken 2 rounds of the antibiotic series and still feel I have hp. I have lost weight to the point that I look anorexic and I have to take sleeping pills to sleep. I also have the burning, inflammation pain and bloating, and I'm exhausted all the time. I just started taking mastic gum, acidopholus, and eating lots of broccoli. I am going to be retested for the bacteria in a week. I don't know what else the Doc can do, because I don't think my body can handle another round of antibiotics. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi! I'd like to share my story with you. I discovered today, thanks to a blood test, that I have H Pylori. In some way, I feel relieved to KNOW exactly what is wrong with my digestive system. I am 49 now, and I just don't know what a normal stomach really is. Since I was a little girl I have suffered from a variety of symptoms, pain above all. I grew thinking that life was just like that or that some people, just like myself, simply have a bad digestive system. I remember how, as a little girl, 4 or 5 years old, I'd spend long periods of time sitting on my grandmother's garden, just waintig and wishing the pain in my belly would go away.

Over the years I have suffered from severe abdomen pain (like fire inside), awful back pain when my stomach was swolen, intolerance to many foods, vomiting acid, constipation and a life of wondering what was wrong.

However, in the last 10 years or so, I got "better". I avoided raw onion, orange juice, raw or lightly cooked garlic and peppers. I also became almost addicted to yogurt. I quitted all alcoholic drinks (even Egg Nog Punch during Christmas). I carefully watched what and when I ate. The long bad years seemed to be part of the past, until two weeks ago, when the nightmare started all over again. I guess I'll never know what triggered it, but I began vomiting acid, feeling fire in my stomach, terrible headaches, nausea, bloating and constipation. A friend recommended me the test for H. Pylori.

It's a great thing to know what your problem is and how to get rid of it, and I am very hopeful. Thank God for Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, the Nobel Prize winners scientists who discovered how harmful H. Pylori is. Heaven bless them.

The end of this story is: D'ont let down, let's kill this hideous, infamous bateria.

Have a free, happy life!

HI,EVERYBODY.
I wrote on February 17th. And I havenīt been back, so here is my email adresse for Mirjana who requested it, and anybody who wants to write to me. ellezaskya@hotmail.com
Iīve got it under control, I have never had those terrible attacks again with deep pain in the bones. But I have still got it, the HP, because I just had a breath test.
My doctor suspected gallstones, and he was right, so now I have two ailments, but I think they are linked together. They have found HP adn at the centre of gallstones. And I personally think that they were formed in my gallbladder in order to get rid of the HP bacteria.
When I get that bloating and severe pain, I am not sure if itīs the gallbladder not contracting, or the HP. Actually, I think the HP makes my stomach lining irritated, and when the stomach bloats, because of the gallbladder being full of stones, it hurts terribly. But I have remedies that work straight away:
The broccoli sprouts. They really help. Ten or twenty sprouts will do the trick.īapain completely gone, bloating too, in 2-3 minutes. I think the sprouts make the gallbladder contract and emit bile to the intestines.
Now,for the HP I have another advise:
I have greatly improved the HP trouble in my mouth and airways by using a mouth wash containing Chlor hexidin. I have articles saying that chlor hexidin kills HP. The trouble is, that you canīt drink it. But since it is all related, the reinfection from the mouth doesnīt happen so much if you erradicate HP by using chlor hexidin.
Another thing that helps is, well, broccoli, and also the mastic gum. I need to do a long treatment with mastic gum, and Iīll get back to you. My advise is:
Get tested for gallstones, some of you seem to have trouble related to fat intake. Also, do a thorough cleansing at the dentist for plaque, trying not to swallow what he cleans out.
Use a chlor hexidin mouthwash, followed by water,(I think traces of it can irritate the stomach lining, and you donīt need that, or maybe it is just the HP dying off and kicking... anyway I sometimes get a related reactions..) Also look into the hp, acidity, of the stomach, I have read that it is related too, a low stomach acid lets the helicobacter live and thrive.
I now take a glass of water with 1 squeezed lemon and 1 teeaspoonfull of virgen olive oil, and it has greatly improved an allergic skin problem on my leg. Also water with 2 teasponnfulls of apple cider vinegar at meals helps the lacking acidity. I am still looking for something to inhale, as I still have the buggers there in my bronchios, but Iīll investigate some more.
Try to live a healthy life, on a healthy diet. Make it impossible for the buggers to thrive in your system.
Lots of Love,
Milia.

Please write to me, anyone who wants to.... xxxxxxx.

correction: I meant to say:
...large glass of water with one TABLE - spoonfull of virgin olive oil, cold pressed. and a squeeezed lemon.
This is for the gallstones, and another thing: you need to test your stomach acid before you start treating yourself for LOW stomach acid, but although it seems a contradiction, that burning feeling isnīt necessarily a symptom of HIGH stomach acid, and taking antiacids makes it turn into a vicious circle, you treat the symptoms, but makes it easy for HP to thrive.

I havenīt done the triple therapy yet, because I donīt think it works in the bronchios and the rest of the airways.
You ought to try any mouthwash containing chlorhexidin, in order not to get reinfected after your second treatment. Ask your doctor if it is okey, though.
I think that is one reason why antibiotics sometimes donīt work: the reinfection from our mouth and airways. Iīll post some links to informative pages.
Lots of Love,
Milia.
I think you have to wait 4 weeks before you have the urea 13 breath test.

I HAVE SOME NEW INFORMATION ABOUT SOMETHING THAT MIGHT HELP TOWARDS THE ERRADICATION OF HP.
IT IS THE IgY, THE ANTIBODIES THAT EXIST IN THE EGG YOLK OF HENS. IF YOU READ THE ARTICLE OF THE LINK IīLL ENCLOSE, YOUīLL SEE THAT HP IS ESPECIALLY MENTIONED TOWARDS THE END OF THE ARTICLE. OOPS, I JUST REALIZED THAT IT IS WRITTEN IN SPANISH, SO I SHALL TRY TO FIND SIMILAR ARTICLES IN ENGLISH AND POST IT HERE.
I REMEMBER, THAT I HAVE HAD GREAT URGES FOR HARD BOILED EGGS WHEN I HAVE HAD HP ATTACKS. THE BODY IS WISE, AND TELLS YOU WHAT YOU NEED. I ALWAYS TRY TO EAT WHAT I CRAVE, AND SUBSEQUENTLY FIND OUT WHY I AM CRAVING PARTICULAR FOODS. THE EGG YOLK,( 2 HARD BOILED EGGES) HAS ALSO TAKEN AWAY A TOOTH ACHE FROM AN INFECTION I HAD, ANYWAY, HERE IS THE LINK:

The only proof of active H.Pylori is biopsy done during endoscopy. Even then, it is up to you to decide what to do, since tripple therapy is only 80% effective. Go to digitalnaturopath.com and find out what is wrong with your body . Also read about H.pylori on siberiantigernaturals.com . Don't be a guinea pig.

I am awaiting biopsy report from an endoscopy. The doctor thinks it is chronic gastritis as a result of h. pylori. He also mentioned mosaic mucosa in much of my stomach. As I understand it... mosaic mucosa is evidence of abnormal cell growth. Does anyone know what this means? Thank you. manta@localline.com

You should ask your doctor. They charge a lot for their services and suppose to answer all your questions.

I have always had a good digestion, and then suddenly, almost overnight, I started feeling really bad, with stomach pains, bloating, heartburn, reflux and nausea. I cut down on known heartburn foods, and just ate a very bland diet, but it failed to relieve my symptoms and my stomach was just as bad. Finally went to the doctor and was put on Omneprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor, 20mg per day. This actually made my symptoms much worse, so returned to doctor, who doubled my dose of omneprazole,( felt really, really bad on two them, so cut dose back to one capsule a day) and subsequently tested positive for H.Pylori. I felt so relieved that there was a definite reason for my gastric problems! I finished the one week course of antibiotics 2 weeks ago. This was pretty difficult, because I felt so horrible all the time I was taking them, with intense headaches, dizziness and constipation. Upon finishing the course, I realised that the symptoms had not gone away, although the reflux has improved. Two days ago I returned to the Doctor and he has referred me for a gastroscope, although heaven knows when that will be, you can wait a long time in this country for them. I think that the H. Pylori has stopped my stomach producing enough acid, and have also read that they tend to thrive in a low acid environment. I am sure that is why my symptoms got worse with the acid suppressants. So many people have this bug, but I think they don't react to it because they have normal levels of acid in their stomach, and so it doesn't get a grip. I have found that bitter teas taken with food helps me, like dandelion or wormwood. I have also just started taking manuka honey, and that has also eased my pain. My sympathy to all others who are suffering from the effects of this horrible bug!!
