Anyone remember the case of the poor guy in Kentucky whose face was being eaten by 2 flesh-eating bacteria? His doctors cut away a good part of his face (including his eyes) in order to keep the bacteria from his brain. A mask was made, held in place by magnets to conceal the large hole.
