Bay Area Muslm group serves up food, info at theme park

Just what Vallejo needs. Just how much can these fine people give back to the community of Vallejo? I cannot think of anything.

This is a real question: Is there a specific food type that is Muslm Food? Kind of like Kosher or Fish on Friday kind of thing?

Never mind... Did some googleing and yahooing... Some tasty sounding stuff; now I am hungry....

there are some ignorant comments on this article. jihad does not mean holy war. if anyone has taken a college history or religion class they would know it means TO STRUGGLE FOR GODS WILL. They have also contributed alot to western society when the Moors invade Europe. They already had astronomy and brought over alot of science.

muslims, jews, and christians all have that 2 percent of each group that breeds hate. um the koran has the same prophets and angels as the bible. i have met many muslims that are good people. i have met many christians that flat out say they are christian and will lie, cheat, steal, and hurt you.

o here is one for you.. what about the christians and the crusades? the christians came from europe to fight over a land that was not even theirs. they slaughtered many muslims just because of religion. those people were born and raised there. they were the rightful people of that land. people from both sides died for an idea. and christians are not violent?

Get your facts straight, first the Crusades were not Christian but an earthy religion like Islam called Catholic. Second the Holy Land is Israel which belongs to the Jews not Muslims. Read a Bible the Word of God not some teachings of a false prophet and anti-christ.

I am hoping for a day when Roman Catholics will have a welcoming day when they can ALSO talk about the CREATOR Jesus Christ! How would Six Flags feel about that?

I just wish that they in the Muslim group would take a stand to condemn the terrorists PUBLICLY. They have so far NOT done that. Until then, I will be VERY suspicious.

No, Islam and their followers ARE the enemy: here are quotes from the Koran itself:

Just to point out something in your own post that you may not have noticed. But you say Muslims contributed a lot to western society when the Moors invaded Europe. Notice, they invaded Europe, by force. And made a lot of converts, also by force.
And, just curious, when was the last time you heard about a Christian or a Jew or a Hindu or a Budhist blowing up a bus or a market or a hotel?
In my opinion, if someone has hijacked Islam, regular Muslims had better take the hijackers down before the non-Mulsim world gets fed up and does it themselves.

A couple of other points about your points.
One, two percent of a billion Muslims is an aweful lot of homicidal maniacs.
And as for the Crusades, it's true the Christians set out to liberate the Holy Land from the Muslims, but they killed more Jews along the way than they ever killed Muslims.
And, two, for the most part, the Christians have gotten over their violent tendencies. They haven't forced anyone to convert or die for several centuries now.

So when are we going to see the white Christian day? I'm tired of everybody focusing on the separation of people versus what unites us. When are we going to be a country of our own. When will we be Americans first. Those non-merit factors of religion, ethnic, past nationalities, gender, sexual orientation dismissed or at least second place in the order of importance.

Reading the comments further emphasizes the need for more education around Islam. There is way too much misunderstanding of Islam. Thank you Vallejo-Times for posting this article. Hopefully some of the folks can reach out to "WHY ISLAM" or community members during such events not only to get a taste of their foodbut also see what Islam is REALLY ABOUT!!
