I have tried everything that the doctor has recommended. He has told me the only thing left is an implant. I am not sure about having one. Does anyone out there have one and doesn't mind answering a few personal questions to help me to make my decidison?

I also was thinking of one but am not sure how much feeling is lost and worried about sex being mechanical which might defeat the purpose. Really don't know?

The implant was brought up to me by my doc as well, but for me theres no way! Maybe its just pride, i dont know.. But theres no reversal to that. Have any of you had venous legiation surgery yet?

Rick, No I haven't. My doc said that was not an option for me. I have diebiets. I have tried everything on the market that the doc knows about. I even tried some of the stuff advertise on TV and found that is a waste of money.
If we can ever get someone who has the implant that will talk to us that would be the biggest help.
Rick I wouldn't rule out the implant, but do like I am doing, put it off until we find someone who is willing to help us. I have finally got up the nerve to talk to a doctor who is in one of my clubs when I can him off to to the side sometime. This is not his specially, but he might just know how I can get in touch with someone who has the implant thru one of his fellow doctors.
AS soon as I have anything worth talking about I will post it.

Hmm, as I know, penile implant don't change inervation of penis, since all important nerves are on the surface (around glans), and implant is "implantet" in deeper parts of penis, am i right?
If I had chance to do that surgery, i would take it right away!

If you are looking for more information, you can go to www.smsna.org to find a urologist in your area that specializes in sexual medicine. Good luck.

hi guys

i am also suffering from ed for the last 9 years' and been through every treatment there is' including injections to the penis, but with no help. the solution of an implant was brought up by my doctor a few months ago, and i have been thinking about that since than, and lately i came 2 the conclusion that i am going 2 do it, simply because nothing else can help me. and i am not going 2 live the rest of my life as an impotent. according 2 my doctor, the feeling does not change, the surgery does not affect the nervs. my problem (beside of the process being irreversible) is that the implant causes the penis 2 be smaller, which is something no man wants... anyway, on the 20TH i have an apoitment with my doc and i am going to arrange the operation. hope that until than someone will post more information about it here.

I have had an implant since recovering from prostate surgery in 1998. I was concerned at first because I lost a little length and girth. But it is probably the smartest thing I have ever done. I have an erection every time I want, and never when I don't. The sensation is no different, but my girlfriend says it is wonderful. She like the idea that my erection lasts as long as she wants. She has discovered that she is much more sexual than anytime before in her life. Now she is multiorgasmic, and so am I. She also says it is way better for oral sex. She would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay sexually active and has ED. In fact she says it is the coolest thing she has ever experienced.
It works great

I have had my implant since early 2004 and it is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done. I suffered from ED and then underwent cancer treatments in 2003 that left me virtually impotent at age 54. I wasn't going to settle for that. I found a specialist through my urologist. The surgery was simple, the recovery not too painful and within six weeks I was able to have my first sexual experience again. I have full feeling, and have lost all the anxieties that come with ED. My health insurance covered most of the approximate $10,000 cost. Even if it hadn't I would have taken a loan to pay for it. Think of it this way...it's one third the cost of a mid-life crisis car and a hell of a lot more fun.

my husband has the pump put in 4 years ago. works great EXCEPT he is so small that he doesnt satisfy me. i can also feel the rods inserted into the shaft when i touch him. very unnatural. their is also that robot like issue because i don't get a natural response of an erection when he sees me. not too good for my ego either. The facts are- IF you have had cancer- or some other serious illness- then it's an option. If you have ED hold tight and see what options become available. I hate it. I don't know if this marriage is gonna make it bcause of this. It's been a nightmare.Any questions please feel free to ask. We both wish we had known the true ramifications of penile implant surgery.

When I got the implant, my wife did not like it. But it turned out that it was me she did not like, not the implant. My fiance suggests that you should ask your significant other about it. If she is tired of sex anyway, and you are OK without it, then don't waste the time and pain. If you want to have sex, and it is not possible without an implant (I had nerve damage in a prostatectomy. There was really no other option.), then go for it.

To the other Jim, I am not sure what you mean by the size of the pump. The system is inside you. The actual part that pumps it up is in my scrotum. It feels like a third testicle.

I want to find a doctor that does lots of implantations a year--not a guy who does one or two. Any doctors you know of that are truly specialists in penile implants? Best if they are in GA, SC, NC or VA because I can't drive too far.

Ok, i would like to give you one good advice! Before inserting penile implant, for your own good, get yourself those vacuum pumps, since they can improve dimensions of your corpora caversnosa (and penise itself), for at least 3 cm in 6-8 months of practicing. If you continue practicing, you can increase penise size event more, and when you come to, lets say, 19 cm, go to surgery, it'll cause you to lose few cm and you'll be just fine with length od 16-17 cm.

I've had the implant for 12 years. It has been a very enjoyable 12 years sexually. It builds confidence and your sex partner thinks you are great. I have just been diagnoised with prostate cancer. My urologist suggested robotic surgery. He said my pump will have no effect on the surgery. I have not talked to the robotic surgeon yet. Appreciate any comments.

I am considering having a penile implant. After prostate radiation I am unable to get an erection. What happens to the penis size, both length and girth? The doctor states that the girth will increase but the length will decrease; the length being only the stretched length of the penis.
