So I've had a girlfriend for a good amount of time now and I've been having trouble getting it up...we attempted twice to have sex..and I couldn't really get it that erect/keep it erect to get a condom on. It's pretty embarrassing and she's a virgin and I am not, so I feel like even more of a fool. I've been sexually active in the past and had no trouble getting an erection with 1 random experience with an ex-girlfriend, but another girl I was with I did have trouble.

I just recently turned 20 and I'm on certain "ADHD" medication. I'm not sure how much they may effect me, but here's the information. I'm on Adderral XR 15 mg, welbutrin 300 mg and buspar 15 mg--the welbutrin and buspar are supposed to control my "impulses" according to my psychiatrist and the Adderall is obviously for my ADHD; I also have short acting focalin. I really haven't been taking the welbutrin and buspar too much as I feel like it might be affecting my getting an erection, but I really don't know. In the past I've been on Strattera and Concierta but have stopped taking those because they make me feel uncomfortable. Also, a few years ago I took this stuff called "T-bomb" some weight lifting supplement that I only used for a short time because I was nervous it was going to have some weird effect on me--shortly after I stopped taking it it was off the market. I know it had some sort of effect on testosterone.

I'm in pretty good shape, I have a muscular build. I work out regularly, eat pretty well for a college kid, and I drink on a weekly basis, but I don't smoke.

I feel like this shouldn't be happening to someone my age and I'm really embarrassed, and really don't want to go to my doctor, that would be really awkward and embarrassing. I was wondering if anyone sees anything that could be an issue or has any advice. I don't know if it's just nerves but please help me out. If anyone knows of anything that would help getting an erection that wouldn't require a prescription, that would be awesome as well. All other advice would be sooo appreciated. This problem is really frustrating and embarrassing, which is why I'm resorting to a more anonymous approach. Thanks.

The same thing happened to my boyfriend. Apparently, it is rather common with Adderal & Strattera. I would definitely talk to your Dr because a drug like Cialis can counteract the side effects of the ADHD meds and solve the problem.

Its the drugs ! Why do you need to take all that poison? Because someone with a degree tell you you dont pay attention?
Do you realise how many chemicals you are putting into your body, and your only 20!

I'll repeat something that I said in another post.
I found this forum specifically to reply to posts such as yours, in hopes that you will not waste time like I did.

Six months ago, I was looking at online forums trying to see what I could do about my erectile dysfunction other than seeing a doctor.

WRONG.

If you can't get it up by yourself under "ideal" circumstances (looking at some hot porn, no drugs or alcohol, no performance anxiety), then you must see a doctor.

After spending six months thinking of excuses not to seek medical help, I finally made an appointment. It was one of the best things I ever did.

I thought it would be embarassing, but my doctor was very professional and understanding, so it was not uncomfortable at all.

Turns out that due to a problem in my endocrine system, I had a low testosterone level. After several blood tests and an MRI, my doctor prescribed a simple medication.

Problem solved.

This is not to suggest that you have a similar condition or chances of success. Just please don't be like me, wasting months trying figure out what's wrong with yourself. Let the experts figure it out. Even if they tell you that there's nothing they can do other than prescribe Viagra/Levitra/etc., you will have spared yourself a lot of worry and uncertainty.

speaking from experience: Hi...I just went to my doctor and I have the same problem you had. For how long did you take this simple medication?
I ask since is what he prescribed me.
thanks.
One more thing...You had the problem you described above?I mean can´t get it up under "ideal" circumstances?

More details:

I'm 26. Two years ago, I used to be able to have and hold an erection just by thinking about sex.
My problems developed mainly over the last two years. Under "ideal circumstances," I could get an erection about 80% of the time but would lose it after a few minutes. With my girlfriend, I could do it about 60% of the time, but would quickly lose it after a couple of minutes. So, mild ED.

I guess my point was that if your function is similar or less than this, definitely see a doctor.

New-at-this:
I was prescribed testosterone gel and have been taking it for about two weeks. I noticed some improvement after the first two days. However, over the next week, the ED came back. Luckily, I realized that I had started using the testosterone incorrectly (the gel remains sticky -- I was applying talcum powder over it to keep it from sticking to my shirt. I think the powder was absorbing the medication and preventing it from transporting through the skin.) So I started using it correctly again, and have seen improvement again after about five more days of use.

I still haven't returned to full function, but it's too early to tell. In the last 5 days, I'm doing about 100% under "ideal conditions." Girlfriend's out of town so can't test in actual battlefield conditions ;)

===

Anyway, again, my point is not to give anyone false hope of similar success. It's rather to emphasize that I was foolish for being delaying my visit to the doctor.

Good luck, gentlemen.

I´m taking some medication for testo improvement that my doctor gave me.

My husband is 37 years old and was recently diagnosed with high blook pressure. He was put on some medication to get it under control. Since then though he can't seem to get a full erection... Is this normal? I want to believe that the medication is the cause but it also makes me wonder if he just isn't into me anymore...

I am 22, I would say I am in pretty good condition, my mile pace is under 5 minutes, I love triathlons, I don´t ride bikes that much, it is more just the requirement. I broke up with my girlfriend 2.5 years ago and pretty much ever since, it has been a little shakey for me. I am not too sexually active, never have been. But, I can say, when I have had girlfriends, Sex is like a daily work out. Anyway, since that nonsense with the girl, things have never been the same. I mean, I have had a couple of one night stands, but they are only when I am wasted, otherwise I will¨think¨too much and I just wont even get hard. To be honest, I am starting to notice how much of a horny guy I am because I am so pissed off that I just don´t get hard, except for randomly, at the wrong damn times.

Like the other guy said, I can get hard more easily until it comes to sex, and I literally have turned down like 5 f´´íng hot girls because I know what is going to happen, their clothes are off and I just tell them we shouldn´t do it because I am not in the mood or its ¨too fast¨or some bullshit. I am being honest, I feel like an emotional bitch... which I am not OK with.

Though, When I was in high school, I had this issue when i first started dating a girl, I figured I was masterbating too much with some legit lotions, stopped, cut down on that, stopped using any lube, and solved the problem 100%, not the case this time because I just never get horny anymore.

I mean I go off and on thinking it is feeling comfortable with the person and all this crap, but can´t a man just want some damn sex. I would prefer someone to tell me I need to lift weights or something than take a pill, I dont even take advil so... any advice... dish it. I mean I am 22, I want to go out to bars and know I can actually perform when these girls want to come home with me...

You should try Horny Goat Weed and Avena Sativa Wild Oats. If your body can handle Yohimbe/Yohimbine, take that too. These herbs are like natural Viagra. Combined they help with anxiety, performance, performance anxiety, concentration, lasting and frequent erections and firmness, lowers refractory period, increases blood flow and sensitivity, arousal, keeps you from having premature ejaculation, etc. Try things like Libido-Max for Men, Zyrexin, Performax, Extenze, and Magna-RX. Most of these things you can get off the shelves at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy section or health food stores. I'm 27 and these things have helped me out a lot. Sometimes I have to stop taking horny goat weed because all I can think of is sex.
