I am not sure if I have endometriosis but I think everything points to having it. My mum had it, my aunt and both my cousins had it. I have been brushed off by all of the docs apparently because of my age (19), the symptoms I have are chronic pelvic pain nearly all month but around the time of my cycle it feels like someone is scraping a razor blade along my pelvic area. I have heavy bleeding also. One other symptom I get is terrible bowel movements and the doctors I have seen have told me bowel movements have nothing to do with endometriosis. Can anyone give me some insight onto that? Thankyou!

Those sound like endometriosis symptoms or possible ovarian cyst symptoms. I'm no doctor though. Uhm and pardon me, I forgot exactly what is called, but it's something along the lines of PID where your pelvis get inflammed and causes alot of pain. You might want to google it.

As far as you getting brushed off by doctors, thats absolutely horrible. I'm 19 too, and I was diagnosed when I was 17. Try asking your family members or close friends about the gynos they go to. Check those out and see if those doctors are more helpful.

From my symptoms I can say I started having endometriosis at age 18. Don't let the doctors brush you off. Find one who wants to follow you before the pain becomes incapacitating.

The experience you have had with doctors is horrible and disappointing, but regretibly common and prolonged. The best advice I can give you is to be your own advocate. Be informed and be persistent when you see a new doctor. I would recommend seeking out an endo support group and find a new doctor that way. You are definitely not too young to have endo and I can attest from personal experience that the painful bowel movements can be associated with endo as well and ofcourse many other symptoms.
You are not alone.
There are good doctors out there who are informed about the disease.
Another tidbit of advice I will offer, when a doctor recommends a specific treatment, research it first before you agree. I wish I had done more research instead of just trusting various doctors. As about ALL the potential side effects of the various treatments.
I am not meaning to sound harsh, but I have made many mistakes when it comes to my treatment because I didn't ask enough questions.
Good luck with finding a doctor.
