Hi I am so glad to see this page. I took a 3 month lupron shot beginning of December 07. Its almost 6 months after the shot and I have not got my period yet. I am really concerned. I check my BBTs and they are flat. My doctor asked me to wait for 2 more months before seeing an RE. Can anyone tell me how long should I wait before getting a period? Also I have only 1 ovary. Lost the other to endo and cysts. COuld this be why I did not get my period yet?? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Tina

Hi Everyone,
I got a 3-month Lupron shot on January 11th for my endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy for my endometriosis on February 13th, along with the lap-band surgery. They found that my bladder is attached to my uterus from the endometriosis scarring. Also, I have endometriosis on my uterus they could not laser off. My doctor said if we wanted try to conceive we could. I got what I thought was a period on April 13th. It lasted for 3 days. I have been taking my BBT and it never got above 97.4, still have not gotten a period. It's been 51 days. I'm so frustrated. I have lost 41 pounds in 3 months, could this have something to do with the no period?

Krystal,
I found out that I had endo Aug 2007. I had laproscopic surg in Oct and started my Lupron injections in Nov 2007. I have gone through mood swings, depression, achy joints, hot flashes, and not having the energy that I did before I started the injections. I haven't started my period either. As far as the pain in my abdomen it is pretty much gone. I still have just a little pain but nothing like before the injections. I don't regret the injections totally but in another way I do. If I had it to do again I probally wouldn't take the injections.

I was on monthly Lupron injections for 6 months for Endo & a Septate Uterus. I had a laparoscopy on Jan. 7, 2008. My last shot was December 27. I got my period 85 days later. I had a lot of symptoms with the shots but they subsided a couple months after stopping the shots. Since I got my first period though, they have been light and very irregular. Thankfully I don't have any Endo pain! But I'm very irregular and I don't think that I am ovulating. I temp every day and my bbt is very erratic. DH & I are ttc since April but we're still not pg. Last cycle I had to jump start with 8 days of Progesterone since I was about a month late. Now, just a few days ago, I discovered that I am lactating. I went to the doctor and they did a Prolactin blood test. I will get the results tomorrow. Any ideas anyone?

I got my prolactin test results back. I had two tests done. The first reported back that my level was 51.6 and the second said 52.8. The normal range is between 2 and 29. The doctor wants to do an MRI to see if a tumor on my Pituitary Gland is causing my gland to produce too much prolactin. We are going to get a second opinion first.

I am 31 and was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis in Dec 07. I had two Lupron Depot injections 3 months apart in January and April 08. I am anxiously awaiting a period so we can try again for a baby. I had no idea that it would take this long for my system to regulate. I am thankful to read that I am not alone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Today I got my MRI results back. They found a 4mm Prolactinoma. The doctor says that is what is causing the increase in my Prolactin level. The doctor also said that there was no connection between the Lupron and the Prolactinoma. I know that the tumor just formed recently because I had an MRI 2 years ago and everything was fine. I just thought I'd update my post on here. If anyone else out there has been on Lupron and then developed a Prolactinoma - I'd really like to hear your story. I don't know if the doctors really know enough about Lupron to make assumptions like they do. The doctor prescribed Dostinex for me to suppress my Prolactin production so that I will hopefully be able to conceive.

Hi there,
My last lupron shot was March of this year and I still haven't got my period yet. I've been on the shot for 5 years, and it really started to mess with my system so I decided to go off of it. My husband and I really want to start a family now so hopefully it won't take too long but I'd love to get my period. 5 months seems like a long time. Anyone have any advice, my doctor isn't doing anything.

Hello,
This is my first post. I have been reading the posts from the first time I found out I had to take Lupron. It is very comforting to know I am not the only one. I was taking Lupron for 3 months - starting May. My last shot was July 7th and I just had the my myomectomy July 23rd. The doctor said the Lupron shrank the fibroid from 10mm to 7mm so he could do a bikini cut (my doc was great) and it also completely shrank the cysts I had in my ovary. As grateful as I am for all the Lupron did, the side effects are still going. And with the recovery it SUCKS!! The hot flashes and the moodiness are the worst!! I still haven't gotten my period and would like to TTC as soon as possible since I am a few months away from 35. I just wanted to say Thank You, I don't feel so alone - because unless your going through it no one can really understand.

Thanks!!!

I am 25 and the doctors think I have endo but there has been no clear sign of it after my laparoscopy and other tests. He wants to put me on Lupron, but I'm really scared. I am in pain 3 out of 4 weeks a month and it's crippling for about 2 days.

I'm only having periods 4 times a year, but the pain seems to never go away. Is there anyone else that has been in my situation?

Hi guys, Im 17 and when i was 16, I had my left ovary removed because of a dermoid cyst the size of a cantaloupe. After that, I just kept getting regular follicle cysts on my left ovary. Even though they were small, they still hurt alot. I went through all different types of birth control and nothing helped.. Ive now been on Lupron and doct. said I was only aloud on it for 9 Month. Today I had my last shot. I only had spotting once on the lupron. Can you guys help me out and tell me what I should expect for my period/when should I get it/If theres anything I should be worried about. Please can everyone write something. I had terrible lupron side effects - especially with the hot flashes. Me and my mom go through them together although she is 54 and Im only 17 its really hard. Anyways, please write back guys, I really appreciate it.

What a great website! I'm like so many of you going through the Lupron roller coaster. I was diagnosed with a large cyst on my left ovary along with endometriosis. In April I underwent laparoscopy and then a few days later began 3 monthly shots of Lupron. The Lupron was not only for endometriosis but also for some shrinking of fibroids.(My husband and I would like to begin in vitro soon) Anyways, after the 1st month, I had the worst period of my life - very heavy. The 2nd and 3rd months on Lupron I suffered with the insomnia, mind racing, hot flashes, night sweats, achy joints, slow memory and eating but never being full. I guess I'm not alone with those symptons. My last montly shot was June 26th and I anxiously waited for my period to return. After reading the postings here, I called my fertility endo last week. They said my period should return with 8 wks of the last injection. I was on week 9 and they said to call if nothing happened the next week. Well, Aunt Flo arrived Wed. and I've never been so happy to see the darn thing ever. It's a relief! It's a normal period and I don't have the endo pain I did before. Also, I was given an ultra sound and endo does not appear, but fibroids remain, which isn't a big deal. FE said they can jump start your period if they have to, although they prefer it to come on it's own.(for all of you with fertility in mind) The best thing to do if you are wondering if your body is "waking up", is to talk with your doctor. Different treatments and conditions could require different amounts of time.

I completed a 6mo treatment of Lupron injections (1 injection/month) this past July. I have yet to have a period. I have been having cramps & pain for the past 5 or 6 days. To the point of having to stay in bed with a heating pad to my stomach or back. I spoke with my md, whom told me to take a pregnancy test. It was negative. I feel like I'm having the same pain I was having when I was having a period, but I have not started yet. Anyone had this problem?

I had my lap done in May of 2007, I was full of endo all the way to the back of the bowels, My doc told me she could not get it all so she thought I should go on Lupron but I wanted to start TTC. So she put me on clomid and after 2 months the pain from the endo was unbareable. So I had the Lupron injection and the first was in Nov. 2007 and last was May 2008. I still am waiting for my period. I called the doc and she said to take a pg test and call her. Well no good news and now I have to go back in to the doc. Who would have ever thought it would be this hard to have a baby. I have a beautiful 11 years old son and I can say I am thankful for that. Good Luck to all..

I had my second dose of lupron the last week of june, and its supposed to end the end of september, but its mid september and I've already started my period. Most people don't start their periods again for months. Is this reason to be concerned???
