i have extremely severe eczema EVERYWHERE

anyone has tried mixing steriod cream with normal cream when using, just to lessen the side-effect of the steriod cream?

Ive been suffering since i was 6 im now 38. I to have been fighting extreme cases on and off for years. If you have it around your eyes or on your face at all STOP eating Onions and Garlic. I know it sounds weird but its true. I'm not allergic to them but there's some chemical in them that makes a difference. trust me i love onions and garlic but i love no flare-ups even better. I know your young so another thing is DON'T SMOKE unfortunately i do but when i try to quit it really helps. Maybe some day. I wash my cloths with a soap called Orvus WA PASTE its pure soap. after the wash cycle is complete, short wash again with no soap, NO DRYER SHEETS just let them dry. When you wash your hair try not to let soap run down your face( hold head back).I haven't actually washed my face with soap in 7 years. i just let the water run over my face for a minute or so. You'll find that there is NO cure and it will be very frustrating. Your family can help by trying to remove all detergents from the home. Cleaning supplies with detergents are the worst. Start a journal so you can keep track of flare-ups and help fight it next time it comes around. And it will over and over again. Try getting on Trial list for company's making new medications.Ive been doing it for years. Stress is also a major factor but your young and really shouldn't have any. Remember that its different for everyone that's the whole problem. But try little things at a time. DON'T EVER FALL FOR ANYTHING THAT SAYS ITS FOUND A CURE. use of steriod cream :

Applying a thin layer on eczema area at least 5 days for serious case. Don't stop applying it when even it get better. If it is not getting well after 5 days, stop applying steroid at least two days that let skin can recover form steroid treatment. On the next week, you can apply 3 or 4 days and then rest 3, or 4 days. Finally, don't use the medicine more then three weeks before consulting doctor.

Someone in the net says mixing steroid cream with normal cream to use but she did not explan the details. A mother's doctor recommend use 1/2 steroid 1/2 normal cream the first day, the second day 1/3 steroid cream, the third day 1/4 steroid cream ..., but she report this doesn't work until after using the Chinese washing receipe 'Eczema Clear"

The dermatologist my son previously consulted never explained so detailed. I wonder if these expensive doctor can sleep well at night with his patient suffer a lot.

I am mixing anti-itchy cream for my son made of zinc powder. See if it work.

When I was young I had dermititus from head to toe, but, thankfully grew out of it. These days I sometimes have had reoccuring skin problems, mainly on my hands or arms. On my arms is primarily caused by detergents, or having a plastic wrist band on my watch that could get wet and cause itching. Last time my hands flaired up I disenfected everything plastic that I touch (computer mouse, keyboard, car steering wheel, plastic pens etc), and after this my hands healed and it didn't come back. Hope this is useful advice. I think that touching plastics, especially if they are damp or not clean can cause alot of irritation!

Hi. I used to suffer from eczema quite badly but now just a little patch now and then. I can remember getting SO stressed out trying to find the cause or finding at least a cream that would at least help me get some sleep at night. So many of us can empathize with the complete frustration of not knowing what to do next. I agree with the fact that we are all different and respond to treatments in different ways but nonetheless, people who have had successes are so keen to make recommendations to others and these suggestions are great.There must be however some methods that have more successes than others....????
OK...Don't we need to collect data from eczema sufferers and put them into some order as to its effectiveness. A survey of some kind, perhaps collected on a site that lists our results and gives other suffers a more sensible list of things to try next...?? Any comments, feedback of any kind would be great.... yeah ur not alone ive had eczema my whole life but got it really bad on my face and arms in high school and it was really embaressing i dissociated myself from ppl and never wanted to be seen or have anyone look at me. i would keep getting prescribed the hydrocortisone creams and topical steroids (which i later found out it is not supposed to be used on the face bc it is too strong and can destroy skin texture tone and color) as years passed my rashes spread to every part of my body. every thing itched all the time. between my fingers,my arm pits, behind my ears, forehead ankles knees elbows bla bla i can go on. i still use the creams but they dont work for long and theyve discolored pigments of color all over my body and my self esteem is completely destroyed. im 21 years old and i believe i will never find a cure for my body and im so jealous of every person that doesnt appreciate just having normal skin tone texture and color.

Phil, that's a good idea. This eczma is such a complex disease, with so many of us suffering from it surely we could all share our good and bad experiences and learn from them.

Hi Dave. my son David has had eczema since he was 1yr old. In April 2009 we switched stores and we saw a huge change in 2 days. 4 weeks later it was gone but still scars.It has now been 6 months and no eczema or scars are left. im on a time crunch so ill give this thread a good read through tommorrow. But would it be wise to fast before doing what you have ben saying kenguy? I have full body eczema, and this stuff is a nightmare. wehre talking ware on the skin turning into wounds and bleedings, along with rashes, flaky skin, scaley skin, pussing, and so on. Ive had staff infection many times because of this stuff. my whole body itches, and crawls like bugs all over me. At my last job my feet would itch so bad when I would take my socks off, I would sit in the locker room scratching them for at least an hour(staff infection #1). it got realy sick, to where when my foot dryed my sock would be "fused" with my skin because the puss would dry and hardened. Id have to rip the skin off to get my socks off. I know im dying slowly, its only a matter of time that my body gives out or I get staff infection and will not have medical coverage or money to treat it. This stuff is eating me physically and emotionally. im not healthy, if you can email me with some methods and what worked from you I would be in debt to you. I would litterally give my soul to get rid of this stuff. Ive had it since I was 8, im 22 now.
