eczema - white spots?? HELP

hi, I have mild eczema and there seems to be certain areas that are affected more than others... particularly at my jaw line and a certain area above my eyebrow

however, recently... i woke up to find that there are smooth white patches instead of my normal tanned skin!

it's been a few weeks now and the coloration doesn't seem to be returning

please help!

Wow I was surprised to read this, I was looking for something else. But I wanted to say the same thing happened to me. The white part seemed to grow and it got tricky to tell if the problem was the white or the darker areas. I assumed the white since I was tan. It became more and more noticeable. I talked to many people and no one knew what it may be. Just today the Dr. confirmed that it is idiopathic melasma. Although melasma can have specific causes like pregnancy and hormones or birth control pills. Those did not apply to me so mine is just unexplained (idiopathic). Look up some pictures online to see if it looks like what you see. It is sometimes called pregancy mask since often women are pregnant. But again you can get it and not be pregnant and even men can get it too. Good news is that it won't hurt you. You will also always have to wear a sun screen with certain ingredients all year. UV rays make it get worse.
