Not really relevant (and not particularly sensible unless you assume either that teens are not ordinary or that they don't want a pint and a smoke) to the idea of their choice of brands. Brand selection AND brand loyalty were both aspects of child smokers that were in the industry's market research parameters.

My bad. I guess my comment wasn't relevant to what month they began in. It does make sense that they would start during summer vacation when they had more free (and probably unsupervised) time than during the school year. They probably spend more time with kids that happen to live nearby rather than kids from their own age groups without the structure of school, and that could put them in contact with older kids that they would try to impress.
