Oh please why don't the mayor authorize a support group for all the people here in Huntington living amongst the addicts and dealers that persist to no avail.

There are many support groups in Huntington. I can give you the number to the Loved Ones Group of Huntington if you wish.

Courts cannot force people to attend 12 step meetings because of the religious aspect of the program. By their own figures they have a 5% success rate. There are better olaces to get help besides a religious cult.

I agree with you-unless someone wants to get their life in order it won't happen. NA and a sponsor help and the real want has tobe there and family has to be there for him/her. It is not easy, but can be done. God is always there for you if you are willing. And no I am not a bible thumper, but believe god helps with all things if you are willing too.

This is a wonderful group of people. I have been to the meeting and they are very informative and confidential. At first you are ashamed and do not want anyone to know you are there, but then you realize those people there are for there for their loved ones too. Try it because it helps you to understand an addicts view on some things. Not everything, but helps you cope with your loved ones addiction.

You are not going to see real help for addicts because there is too much money to be made keeping addicts addicted. Government programs are not made to help addicts, it wants to keep them sick, disabled, dependent and entitiled. Instead of programs treating the problem, they treat the symptom with medication. Listen to what Mr. Obama is saying, he was everyone to be treated equal, meaning; don't work, don't have initiative; don't have a reputable character or work ethic, and depend on the government, because we (the government) are going to take care of you. Buck up boys and girls, it aint going to get any better.......unless you are willing to get out and vote and rally in your neighborhoods and pray in your churches and take a stand. God have mercy on us all, that we might humble ourselves and seek His face.

I think you need to clean your ears out, or quit smoking where ever you were smoking when you heard Mr. Obama say that he did not want people working. Being treated equal dose not mean for everyone to stop working and live off of the government, it means that if your rich, poor, black, white, red, yellow, straight, gay, Male or female, christian, or other belief, you have as much right as the next person to get an education, to get good jobs, to get help with getting off drugs, to be able to afford health insurance for you and your family.. Your way of thinking is what keeps the USA Disabled, not Mr. Obama!

Well lets see, ah, wait and hope the goverment helps my child get off drugs, or attend a couple of meetings and get ideas and educations on how it can help get my kit off of drugs faster. I think I'll go and attend the meetings. The other was sound like it was written by adicts.

There are places out there for alcoholic and addicts that really do care. I went to a sober living called New Life House and going there was the best decision I ever made. I have been sober for 8 years and at that facility I got a foundation for recovery that really works. Check out their website if you need some help! http://www.newlifehouse.com

When and if they want it... it is not necessary to dedicate the rest of your life to over-bonding with AA people. Would you go to a real doctor for a "real" disease and only talk in the waiting room to others with no cure?

"a couple of meetings"? You will that your life depends on staying in Alanon, the same as theirs does in AA. The rest of your life. That is not real empowerment, that is indoctrination.

That guy is right! I read that now that all the industry that has moved out of country has us changing into an economy of rehab based businesses. Now they are attached to the court system, even though many state Supreme Courts have rules AA unconstitutional, as a religion, most people are unaware that they can demand non-religious therapy. They disrespect church at the meetings and want AA to be your church. The biggest thing that alanon will tell you, in a lot more than a couple of meetings, is that you are only "there for yourself" and you cannot change your children's behavior. like it's better to turn them over to AA and let "them" be the new ones who get to control them and AA gets a new member. It is a major big business. Modeled after The Oxford Group, who believed in Hitler and in "moral rearmament" as a new cure for all society.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Taurus

If a friend has been bugging you recently, you are likely to have a few sharp words with them today. However, least said soonest mended, so don't labour the point or turn them against you. Besides, you have better things to do with your time now, such as taking part in a big gathering of likeminded people or having a long chat with one special person.
