Hi,
I would really appreciate it there is anyone out there who can share their experiences on this therapy. It has "cured" 6 patients according to a 2003 study by Dr. Borody at the CDD in Australia. Any comments would help. Thanks |

Hi, I have the same question. Does anyone know of anyone who as at least tried it? Please post. Thanks.

Yes, I am six months post treatment, and feeling great. Went to Sydney as a last resort as other medication was ineffective and I was dependent on Prednisone. Have had moderate/severe UC for 15 years.
Only medication I am taking now is 6-8 grams of fish oil per day. Fingers Crossed! All details are on the website: http://www.probiotictherapy.com.au/index.shtm... |

Can you please give me your email address? Thanks. |

Jonny-if you're still out there-how are you doing these days? I recently heard about this therapy-and am researching it for myself and a friend. Did you have bloating, cramps, diarrhea before that is now gone or minimized? Very interested in seeing how you're doing. Any bad side effects?

Hi Yes I'm still out here, but I don't check this page very often, so please feel free to email me at the address above. I am only too pleased to offer help/advice to anyone contemplating the HPI treatment. I am still feeling great and drug free. I am reluctant to say I am 'cured' but I have had no symptoms of my UC since the treatment.
Thanks |

http://www.ehow.com/how_5181693_cure-infectio... http://www.duluthclinic.org/specialtycenters/... I did the procedure at home after having recieved over the phone instructions. I did not have colitis, but rather a c diff infection that was horrible. I did the transplant at home with my brother as a screened donor. I was 100 percent healthy 2 days later and that was 1 year ago. It works! It makes sense. There are skeptics but they are still sick and taking drugs that only mask the problem. The top link is a step by step article I wrote on how to perform the procedure at home. The bottom link is the Dulth, MN doctor who does this in his office. good luck all! think outside the box. They have been doing this procedure to animals for over 50 years. |

I am 1 year post a successful infusion performed at home. I had c diff not colitis but it was hell. I was 100 percent healthy 2 days later and have remained so. This is a link for an article I wrote explaining step by step the at home version, which is nearly identical to what the doc will do.

A good friend of mine has colitis and c.difficile. Does anyone know of any doctor or clinic in the vicinity (or as close as possible) to New Orleans?
|

Sorry, didn't complete my post above. This would be a doctor or clinic who would perform fecal bacteriotherapy.

This is an interesting topic. If anyone else is out there who has done this procedure please post on this blog. You would be a great help to those looking to get this procedure done for Ulcerative Colitis or C-diff. THANK YOU!!

Dave from Milwaukee, your e-how article doesn't reference antibiotics or colonic lavage, which are parts of the CDD Home Infusion Protocol. Did you not do these, are were still successful?
|
||||

Oh god, type time...."and were still successful?"

Hey Johnny,
I'm wondering if you are still symptom free. I am in Atlanta, GA, USA. I found articles about human probiotic infusion and have asked my doctors, but they are afraid it is dangerous and they don't think it will help. I have thought about trying this at home too. In the articles I read, the Australian doctors first used steriods, etc. to get the UC under control. Then sterilized the colon with powerful antibiotics and such. Then they did the donor infusions. When you did this home, was your UC giving you difficulty? I currently have liquid diareah 6 - 10 times a day with blood. Also, it seems you skipped the sterilizing of the colon part, but the procedure still worked. Yes? I would love to hear whether you are still symptom free and if you know where I can talk to other people who did this from home. Thanks, Sandy |

I am currently undergoing HPI Home Infusion Protocol.
Pancolitis was confirmed in 2007 by colonoscopy after 23 yrs with IBD. Went thru 10 days of taking 3 different antibiotics (rifampin, vancomycn HCL, Flagyl) each twice a day to reduce current microbs in the GI tract. Then, 1 day using a bowel lavage to flushout the bowel in preparation for the human fecal infusions. Currently, I have received 6 infusions with 4 remaining. I am doing well. I will post again the 1st week of Jan 2010 w update for anyone interested. So far, I have been eating many foods (nuts, beans, raw fruits & vegetables, etc) which I was unable to eat prior to starting the proceedure without having colitis symptoms :) Hope this is encouraging my fellow IBD suffers. |

Hi everyone I came upon this site and thought I should share my experiance. I had HPI about 2 months ago, I have cronhs and I also had intestinal Candida in the small intsetine and colon. I must say that I had high hopes for this to work. I had the whole intestinal track done and with in a day I began to swell and bloat, then came the gas! I wound up in the hospitial with bacterial over growth. I'm now on lots of antibiotics and the gas, cramping, is non stop.
I think HPI can be helpful for c diff and uc but there are risks, for myself I wish I had not gone this route. Best of health to all. |
