COPD Deaths Increase Among Women

All of those proudly pro smoking women who post here should read this. In a few years they, too, will be wheeling down the aisle of the grocery store in one of those electric carts. By the way, those electric carts cost money which raises the food cost for all of the rest of us who do not smoke.

Selfish, ignorant smokers have NO right to continue to smoke and inflict THEIR bodily infimarties on us. If you smoke, there should be NO handicap parking. If you smoke, there should be no electric cart use in the store. If you smoke, you did it to yourself, so live with it. Maybe a younger smoker will see you gasping as you have to walk those extra steps to the store and to the checkout and decide that smoking really is not worth it after all.

Most who now suffer from COPD started smoking back Aprox. 35-45 years ago. Most people back didn't know the real harm smoking caused. We have to give them a break, but must do our best to keep younger people from starting to smoke. What's done is done, we can't go back. It's the future we have to worry about.

You are so wrong....They should not let a 78 women use the carts because she chooses to smoke. I can tell your mom doesnt have this. How cruel can you be? If a women at her age stops smoking...its a known fact her health will not change. You need to voluteer your energy to the elderly....or maybe not..

hey you are not a very nice person are you, I am not a smoker and i have COPD. I am sure you did something in your life that was not all that great. People don't realize when they are young what smoking can do to them and its not that easy for one to stop... I think this was a very rude comment on your part...

So very true, it's the future that counts.

While the overwhelning majorty of people with COPD got it from years of smoking, remember not everyone with COPD is or was a smoker. There are a few others ways one can aquire it. I have it due to a genetic issue, others may have gotten it from condations at work ect.

not everyone one you see on oxygon or on the electric carts was smokers,your a stupid bit.some are heart problens my grandson was born with lung problems.i worked in a mill and because of the fumes have damage lungs now and was a lot of smoke fire in the mile so screw you lady your no lady forgot your just a stupid bit.oh and if your ugly YOU should not be seen thats you because you are full of hate.
