chest pain for 1 month

I am a 25 yo male with chest pain that has lasted for longer that 1 month, It is in the center of my chest and occasionaly spreads to the left side and shoulder, I would rank it A 3 on a 0-10 scale and it is more nagging than anything else. I went to doctor when it first started and had ekg and blood test that were all normal. I was diagnosed with GERD though. Anybody got any ideas of why its still bothering me?

I have a similar problem, I'm 31 but my pain has been around for a year. I was Diagnosed with GERD's as well but personally do not think that is the prob. My pain started as discomfort, about 3 months ago was around a 3 (scale 1-10) but for the last two weeks has been sharp nagging pain around 5 or 6. Have had blood work, x-rays, 5 EKG's nothing shows up. They think it is chest cavity inflammation now, inflammation around the heart..... Still think there is more to it as inflammation that lasts a year and progressively gets worse does not sound like inflammation to me.. Not sure if this helps ya, prob not but thought I would write.
