Pain just under the sternum

I'm 23, and am having the worst chest pains, this happens when I'm anxious, if I have a nightmare, if I get a fright, when I'm at work, when I drink alcohol, actually....basically anytime. It's so sore, and then get out of breath straight after a several intense ache's, they come in waves.
Has anyone heard of this before? I'm normal weight (22 BMI), normal height, young, eat healthy, no family history of chest pains.... You might say it's a panic attack, I've had two of those before, doesn't feel anything like that. Would rather stay away from doctors and hospitals, so any advice/suggestions/possibiliti es would be greatly appreciated!

n cyclical breast pain there is a clear relationship with the menstrual cycle. A number of other conditions (apart from breast cancer) can give rise to non-cyclical pain in the breast. In these conditions, the pain is present most of the time at varying levels of intensity, but is not related to the menstrual cycle.
