hey guys im looking for advice, i have noticed with more frequency 4 - 4 times a week that i am getting left sided chest pain..its like a crushing pain and it radiates out to my arms. Deep brathing does not help normallt it last aroun 3 minutes but last night while standing at a concert it lasted for more that 5. I have noticed at times that my heart rated beats irregularly..either fast or missing beats. I am 35 and overweight so i know that that doesn't help matters allong. The thing is it mostly happens when i am standing still. Surley to be something to worry about it would be while exercising????

any advice would be appreciated.

Melz,
You should not ignore a chest pain until you have been checked for heart conditions. I know from my own chest pains that acid reflux can be a cause and it can radiate down the arm if esophageal spasms are involved. Get a check to be sure then invest in an acid reducer with bicarbonate soda mixed in also. Here in the U.S. we use Zegrid which is Prilosec with a buffer.
Stress causes chest pain, reflux can be a cause, inflamation or infection can also cause chest pain. Get checked. At 35 you have a great chance to fix the problem, get very old, and stand through many more concerts!

Hi there, I have been suffering aggravated chest pains on the left side for about 3 months. It can sometimes be mild and sometimes quite painful.I had visited my family physician one month back and he guessed it be a muscular or a gas pain.He gave me some gels to apply for muscular pain but it didn't help.Do you think i could have anything seriuosly wrong with me. I am very worried. can anyone relate to these symptoms.

Your most important aspect of your body is on the left, your heart. So if you ever feel any discomfort in the left chest pain area, you should immediately see a doctor, or even get an X-ray at your local hospital

Sleep apnea can could GERD, acid reflux, chest pain, and a whole host of other symptoms.

To get diagnosed you need your chest pain and the possible causes ruled out by a physician.

Don't wait as it could be something serious!

I have been dealing with left side chest pain since I was twenty- I am now 43. Everyone in my family suffers from this and it is caused by gas. While some people may contribute it to stress, my gas- and all of my families is contributed to fatty eating. When I eat poorly, I have left chest pains that are painful and I must take short breaths and wait for the pain to subside. I have found that when I have a chest pain like this, I can stretch my left arm over my head and breath deaply and it will "pop".

Chest pain is one of the most common complaints that will bring a patient to the Emergency Department. Seeking immediate care may be lifesaving, and considerable public education has been undertaken to get patients to access medical care when chest pain strikes. While the patient may be worried about a heart attack, there are many other causes of pain in the chest that the healthcare provider will need to consider. Some diagnoses are life threatening, while others are less dangerous.
