I am 34 and have had GI issues for about 15 years. Get bad abdominal cramps especially when having a BM, either constipated or have diahrea. I haven't linked this to wheat but I do eat bread etc daily. These don't happen daily but enough to be an ongoing issue. Do all celiacs feel bad after eating wheat each time?

My bones and muscles generally ache and are quite sore before bed and worse when I wake up. I feel super stiff from the bottom of my feet to my neck. Once I get out of bed it takes a bit for everything to loosen up and feel semi-normal.

Those are the 2 issues that have plagued me for quite some time.

Now onto some odd things that have happened over the past year - I am wondering if they are related to celiac?

I have had 2 instances of kidney stones. I dislocated my kneecap. I delivered a low birth weight baby (doctors induced me because they were worried about his size and that he wasn't growing inside). Also when I was pregnant, I had really early swelling of my hands and feet. Everyone said my swelling was normal because I was pregnant but it started at around 16 weeks pregnant.

Other odd things that happened when I was pregnant that may or may not be related... I had an unknown itchy rash on my belly for about a week and a half and near the end of pregnancy I had INCREDIBLY itchy feet that could not be relieved by itching, cream or anything.

I have discussed celiac with my doctor and she doesn't think I have it (because I don't feel bad everytime I eat wheat) but didn't rule it out.

I am in Canada and the celiac blood tests are not covered by our healthcare. She said she would send me for a scope or do other bloodwork that may indicate celiac. We opted for the bloodwork to begin with.

Apparently, the liver blood test came back abnormal and they are having me re-do it. Could this be an indicator of celiac?

I also had an abdominal ultrasound which came back fine.

Any insight or comments are welcome.
