and do it without taking away freedom of choice, free medical for illegal aliens, reducing care, reducing drugs coverage, increasing doctors and nurses and give them freedom of choice where to work. reduce the 1990 page piece of garbage produced behind closed doors and make each and every representitive read fully its contents and fully understand it before voting on it. make them also hear and understand what the people want and ignore the special interest groups. and most of all, get out of forcing mandates upon the american people. stop passing bills that enslave teh american people more and more under the guise of helping the people. we simply can not afford any more help for the worst congress in american history. congress, pay into your own retirement, pay for your own medical. and polsi, give up your taxpayer provided private jet, reid, get mental help along with polsi, boxer, feinstein and along with the other 500 plus reps, quit before your voted out. the american people really do need your help, and quiting would be the greatest thing you could do before you completly turn this country into a fully socialist country.

I don't like the health care bill because it funds
abortion. My tax dollars will be paying to kill the unborn. I wonder if the German people had to pay taxes to the Nazi governmnet to throw Jews in the ovens?

GMB, illegal aliens don't get medical care unless they are lying to the government. Citizens lie to the government regularly when they cheat on their taxes, for example. Not Optimistic, abortion isn't mandatory! Get a grip, you two. We're talking about saving poor people from dying of curable and treatable cancers, of setting broken bones properly, and medical care that you two probably have through a now defunct business that went broke paying for your retirement benefits.

This monstrosity of government take over of 1/6th of the economy which Democrats are trying to shove down the America peoples throats is a abuse of political power. They will continue to tinker, amend and experiment pouring billions more tax dollars into it totally bankrupting this country. While Democratic politicians are strutting around on CSPAN like peacocks doing a Kabuki dance of historic victory and patting each other on the back, we the people will be stuck with paying for it. In the end it will fail and like Fanny May, Freddie Mack and Barney Frank it will be some one else's fault.

No we are ultimately taking about forcing all citizens into a one size fits all plan for government to control our lives and behavior from cradle to grave. If government socialized health care is enacted it will be the beginning of the end of our God given birth right of freedom and liberty as we have known it. We know where Obama stands on freedom, for he could not even find time to attend the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.I bet he finds time to accept the Nobel Peace Prize and recognition of his greatness.

How many of you people here have health insurance? Simple question.

I just went to a local rally against this law. I probably asked 200 people and didn't find one who did not have health care.

If you don't answer, I'll ask again.

Now think about what nobody’s saying.
The AMA and insurance companies controls almost all aspects of health care today. When was the last time you could tell one of them "you’re not doing it right so you’re out of here."??????
At least with a government health care option we can change it, maybe not an easy option but if we have one in place it can be changed.
Remember this is a representative government so if you’re letting the government shove you into anything you’re not using your power, just bitching about what you won’t do anything about.

Yes, I do have health insurance as do many of may family, relatives, and friends! So what is your point? We are not willing to give our coverage to an adminstration that has no clue as to cost containment or the role of the patient/doctor relation. The administration is planning to vaccinate the terrorists held at Gitmo, but cannot supply enough vaccine for its own citizens! Welcome to Obamacare! The private sector always provided an ample supply of vaccines, but this administration and its czars can't find their way out of a restroom with a gps.

Marley, I didn't ask you, but thank you for responding.

My point is that I have yet to find ONE person railing against this legislation who has health insurance.

It is not Obama's fault that the distribution of vaccine for swine flu is so screwed up. Do you know the scientific reason that it has been unavailable? It's beyond any politician's control.

And, by the way, the private sector is still providing the vaccine. OK, I'll let you off the hook.

The reason swine flu has been slow in coming is that for some reason it reproduces in the eggs used to manufacture it markedly more slowly than other flu strains. It is growing at 30% of the rate they expected it to. They're making it as fast as they can, but the nature of the virus is slowing it down dramatically.

I just think it's fascinating that everything is Obama's fault -- now including the rate of growth of one particular virus within a chicken egg. Such power! ROTFL!!!

LLC, so you have health insurance.

So the government will impose "it" on both you and me?

I'm glad. Unlike you, I do not have health insurance. It's quite the gamble whether my 401k will hold out until I am eligible for medicare. Right now it appears that it will but I could have a heart attack or stroke tomorrow.

I'm not insurable today. I'm hoping that when this law passes that I can say, as you can, that I have health insurance.

I love when the Govt. knows what's better for us that we do. This bill includes the Individual Mandate, which will force you to pay for health insurance (unless you qualify for CMSP, Medicare, MediCal or whatever govt. health insurance we have now), regardless if you want it or not.

Anon, same question for you: do you have health care?

I'm willing to pay for health care. I've had breast cancer. Unless the government forces them, no one will insure me at any price. If I hadn't had a 401k account to draw down from, I'd be dying from breast cancer by now.

This is really serious, this health insurance thing. People really are dying because they don't have it. A friend of mine knew a young man who died of juvenile diabetes -- at age 35 -- because he could not afford health care and had no health insurance.

35. That's WAY too young to die from something we've known how to manage since 1929.

Remember the movie Bad day at Black Rock. Well this movie of HR3962 should be called Black Day At Bad Rock. The American people not unlike the congress who vote 220 to 215 are split right down the middle and Obama rather than being the Uniter has become the Divider. Unlike the Vietnam War which was the first great polarization flash point of this century, health care is the new great, deep and widening chasm of divide. I believe it spells the beginning of the end of freedom, liberty and individual choice as we have known it. Pelosi certainly can not claim this was a bi-partisan vote , with 1 Republican voting for it and 39 Democrats voting against it. I don't hold out much hope for the Senate killing this monstrosity but maybe the Blue Dogs will step up to the plate and do what is right. Otherwise when Americans have had a belly full of this bad medicine and the lies perpetrated about it being deficit neutral begin to be exposed with massive cost overruns and taxation being heaped upon us, hopefully we can vote these politicians out of office who imposed this law upon us and hopefully it will happen before we become addicted to this new drug the Far Left wish to pacify us into government submission with.

That's what's really sticking in your craw, isn't it, LLC -- a Black man got elected.

What with both Bushes getting us into three different wars, I don't really care whether this was bipartisan or not. I don't even care if it's deficit-neutral. The Republicans certainly didn't care about acting in deficit-neutral ways when they were in office.

At least the older one could actually *win* the war he started, although it was a major contributor to our war difficulties now in all sorts of ways.

It just astounds me how little faith people like you actually have in the United States, where you think that we can't manage to do what Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland and a whole host of countries with fewer assets we possess have managed to do.

If attitudes like yours had prevailed during the period prior to the Revolutionary War, we'd like Cmmonwealth countries, singing "God Save the Queen" at the drop of a hat.

Don't count on the Blue Dogs. They all voted for this bill, and you know why? It was because they know that while conservatives are good at shouting and calling names,I was out in the crowd figuring out that every single one of them had health insurance. There are a lot of people in this country who have health insurance but who actually comprehend that good people are dying for the lack of it.

I could have been one of them. Sorry, but that trumps your racist attitudes to the majority in this country.

SUCK IT UP -- YOU LOST! That's why we call it a democracy. You don't like who the majority chose? Well, I didn't like Bush.

No it is not about a black man becoming president. I am especially proud that American race relations have evolved to the point that an African American has become president. I just wished he shared my Constitutional Conservative values. I dislike what Nancy Pelosi is doing just as much as what Obama is doing. This Liberal line that all opposition to the FAR LEFT agenda is nothing but racism is getting a bit tiresome. The racial, ethnic, religious, non-religious etc etc Americans are not monolithic groups supporting just one party.Your right the Democrats have won but they have not taken away our first amendment rights yet to speak out in opposition to the remaking of America and redistribution of the wealth. I strongly believe in the democratic voting process and hopefully the next election we will reverse the FAR LEFT agenda. Good luck with your agenda but I think the election results in Virgina and New Jersey are a sign of things to come.

Gale Perry, the Revolutionary War against the British was fought by ordinary farmers, store keepers, clerks etc taking up arms to fight for the freedom we have today. If your FAR LEFT politicians have their way, we will see them take away and outlaw our second amendment right to bear arms. The real patriots are those that challenge authority, for tyranny can only gain a foot hold and flourish when people remain silent. This administration wants to fundamentally change the entire system of government. The original revolution by the founding father of our country was to break away from British tyranny but the new revolution is to bring us back under government tyrannical rule for the common good and eliminating selfish individual freedom of greed. The fight is over limited government versus total government. The fight for individual right to private property versus public government right to all property. The 2nd amendment right to bear arms versus no right to bear arms. Right to free speech versus government controlled speech. Right to a free press versus government controlled media.
