underwent green light laser procedure in 9/06. recently experiencing pre-procedure symptons even more pronounced than before procedure. Urologist suspects "scarring" resulting from the procedure.
Is this common?
Responses would be most appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I have a great recommendation for men with BPH. After being diagnosed with BPH, I realised how this disease could really change my life. The
procedures initially recommended by my urologist sounded quite invasive and would compromise my life style.I know I had to do some research on
the internet to find other alternatives. I found this website, http://www.parkaveurology.com I was really impressed with the information provided.

Subsquently, I made an appointment to see Dr. Nabet G. Kasabian. After several visits, I concluded that this doctor really knew his stuff. He was very confident and supportive and explained to me that he could provided a surgical alternative called a greenlight pvp (greenlight
laser). I decided to go ahead with the procedure, and the rest is history. All I can say is that my life has really changed. I am so thankful to Dr. Kasabian and the greenlight laser system.

I had the Green Light procedure 65 days ago and am continuing to deal with complications. The doctor says I am emptying my bladder, but I still have frequent trips to the bathroom. There is even less warning than before and the urgency is greater than before the procedure. The amount of urine is less than before the procedure. Also about six weeks after surgery I stopped ejaculating and my organism are less intense. The first six weeks were quite painful. Perhaps I amy the unfortunate case, but this was far more complex and risky than I was led to believe. I'd look at other options if I could go back.

I had the green light therapy May 2006 and although I am sleeping theourhg thenigh and not "wetting" myself after leaving the bathroom (both plusses), my orgasms are not as intense. The climax is more gradual and does not build as it did before and I have descriobed it as going down a hill versus falling off a cliff. No ejaculation either. No problem with desire or ercetions justr not as forceful an orgasm.

Hi all,
I am a 54-year-old man who had the Green Light Procedure on June 24th, less than 3 weeks ago. Although I still occasionally have blood in my urine, my results have been significant with relatively minor side effects. Even though my doctor told me not to expect significant improvement for at least 6 weeks, I no longer get up multiple times during the night. The most I get up is one time and most nights I don't even have to get up once. Additionally, so far I have not experienced retrograde ejaculation. My ejaculation seems to be normal volume. I am able to experience a full orgasm, however I am still experiencing some pain related to my healing prostate and some blood in my ejaculate. Also, I resumed going to the gym only 3 days after my surgery. This does not seem to have effected my recovery. I am just staying away from high impact exercises and heavy weight lifting.
Anyway, this procedure has significantly and positively changed my life already. It took 4 tries before finally finding a doctor who I trusted. I feel very lucky to have found him.

My 83 year old husband had green light laser sugery yesterday. He is on blood thinner so they kept him over night in the hospital. Today there is still too much bleeding so he will stay in at least another day. He is complaining about gas and no appetite. They gave him some hot tea which did bring up some burps. Is this a common after effect?

I am a 51 yo who has just been recommended for the "greenlight" treatment. I have used Flowmax and am still on Finestrade to shrink my prostrate. Both drugs gave me weak orgasms and low sperm flow. My doctor thinks this will help me in both those categories as well as the reduction or elimination of taking either medicine.
Has anyone else experienced this and did GL remediate or not..???

In response to Roland:
Prior to my surgery, I had taken Flomax for approximately 1 month. I could not tolerate Flomax because I felt totally numb when orgasming. I could feel the "mechanics" working but felt an absence of sensation. It was as if my genitals and prostate were no longer a part of me. Additionally, I had retrograde ejacuation with Flomax and was totally dry. Since having the Green Light procedure, I ejaculate normally and my orgasms have been uneffected and wonderfully satisfying. Additionally, I do not take medication since the surgery. As far as urinating goes, I urinate before going to bed at 11:30 pm. I do not wake up until after 6:30 am and sometimes after 7 am to urinate again. Before the surgery I was going to the bathroom 3 to 4 times every night. At this point for me the surgery has changed my life. I am no longer sleep deprived from the constant need to urinate and because of this I am in a better mood and have much more energy.
Hope this helps Roland.

What other proceedures or treatments would you consider? I am considering TUMT (microwave). My dad recently had TUMT and has suffered no side effects.

My problem is that Kaiser Permenente says they don't offer TUMT and only do the green light laser.

David, I am looking for the right surgeon to do this procedure in Manhattan. If you could share with me / us who the fourth surgeon you found you had such a good experience with (and how many green light surgeries he had done if you know that) that would be really helpful to me. Thanks, Greg

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Scorpio

Self-worship is easy and obvious, today. The real prize is when you turn from the mirror to see that others think just as highly of you. Take in all this love and amazement, and store some away for lean times in the future. Someone may give you an unexpected compliment later in the day, but don't let them know that it caught you off guard. After all, you still have your reputation as an egomaniac to uphold!
