MY! MY! Where does China play into this?
Just more U.S.A. substandard products that you use and consume daily. Of course you can still sue a company that is in the U.S.A. easier. Do you think they will execute the head of the FDA?

I don't think people realize there is a standard of "acceptable" percentages of non-food items, bugs, hair, rocks, dirt, etc in everyday items such as canned fruit and vegetables and soups.

I believe it's the Georgia health inspectors. It's the same old thig with peanut butter recalls. FDA sends the state $$$'s and schooling and the states spend on whatever.

Sad thing is this product is probably consumed by low income people already down on their luck. Now they have to worry if that canned food crap for dinner is gonna paralyze or kill them.
Sure bet George Bush & Dick Cheney won't have to check their cupboards. The only cans they have are probably the finest caviar & non-union made imported beer.

Could this be more Imported substances from China? Blame it on a machine malfunction. Like the machine went out on the weekend and got randy and brought back this bug that causes Botulism. How dare these Food Providers that Import Cheaper Food additives for Profit at Our Expense!

There is really NO excuse for this and the many other recalls. DO your job right, and it won't happen. This is not some un developed country. STUPID, STUPID people. I for one, am really tired of food recals, and putting us all in danger. Get with it.

Lilriver says... not everyone can afford eating organic. And, some of the lettuce recalled earlier this year was organic!!! You sound like you are un-educated... learn how to spell, would ya??

Canned meat products and dog food made on the same line. Sounds tasty.

When you cut corners for the bottom line this is what happens. Clean machines and a sanitary plant staffed with people who know what they are doing is all that is needed.

Isn't it scary that there are four dog foods being recalled among the canned meats. Who knew that they processed dog food on the same line as "human" food?

I knew a gal from Georgia and she had frequent meat recalls. She'd call around Tuesday and want some. Them she'd recall again on Thursday or Friday and want some more meat! Does that count?

I read a couple of days ago that the FDA is reducing by 12 the number of their offices that investigate the safety of foods.

This is too the root of the real problem. Jesus said these leaders consider themselves benefactors. Those who rule are smarter than us so their corruption should be unstood as a necessity. Every area of government is controlled carefully by corporate interest. If it isn't in corporate interest then the benefactors (leaders, politians) are out of town. Like you brought out, "We have the best government that money can buy..." Our government is the root of all our nation's evil. We need not look overseas.

I'm lucky that its not winter. I eat the chili, and corned beef hash and stew at that time but not in summer. Too hot and heavy. Whew.
