She had multiple injections. This was not her first exposure to botox. Botox is a toxin. Everyone knows that - Especially you doctor. There are dangers with ALL medical procedures. Death being the ultimate result. Basic first year med school stuff.

If god was to reach down and throw me on an ironing board and iron my wrinkles away, then fine but until then I'll have to have wrinkles.

Until people accept aging as a natural and unstoppable part of life, we will hear stories like this one. Being vain is what caused this Dr to become ill. Not Botox or anything else.

She is a really nice, sensible lady and a very good doctor. Sadly, she willprobably not see a dime of the money. I hope she can go back to work someday.

I was a nurse in the office with Dr. Helton when she became effected by Botox. She was a wonderful OB/GYN doctor with a wonderful life and career. I saw first hand her go from a vibrant young doctor, whos patients loved her, to a person who could not walk down the hall without getting weak and tired. I am glad that she won the suit, not for the money but to let people know how dangerous this drug is. I wish only the best for her and her family.

Yep, I agree, I am who I am, some don't like it, but "O, Well". Why do some want to alter who they are? I'm 39, got wrinkles, grey hair, a bad knee, who cares....People need to lay off the chemicals. Be who you are!

Stupidity at its best. So she knew the risks and she wanted Botox to LOOK good because she was not happy with the way she looked. Or was her lover or husband banging someone else she felt she needed to reconstruct herself? Cannot feel sorry for her decisions.

She is sick in her head! Her husband is.... and has no interest in her. I think what ever caused her pain surely wasn't Botox. That drug is used by millions of people and she spoke of 207 cases of people that claim they got sick from it. Go Botox! Because i can't think of any other drug, used by so many people and only such small amount of them having a bad reaction. No Drug out there will be safe for every person taking it. That is sad but that's a fact. I'm sure she had to sign a paper that informed her that she could die. And knowing that, she went for it anyways. So she would have put up with death but when she got joint pain and weakness, she got herself some ambulance chaser to have a big payday. I hope she never gets a penny!

Dr. Helton delivered my son and I was hoping she would deliver my second child, but she had to close her practice. She is a honest and wonderful Dr. and person. She is one of the few Dr. that my husband actually likes. She never spoke down to us and always had time for all our questions. She really was the best Dr. And for those of you in doubt, do the research ... Botox can do this to you. The drug company just doesn't want you to know about it.

Man 15 years, you must of have speed bumps so what your telling us is that when you die they wont have to prep you.It must also shrink your heart because the statements you made about this lady were heartless.

I don't believe i said that she was a bad Dr! I don't know her. And i did not say she isn't a good person. But as a Dr she should have had better judgement. I think it is sad that she got sick and i very much hope they will diagnose her correctly so she can get a treatment that makes her better. In regards to " THE DRUG COMPANY DOESN'T WANT US TO KNOW" They can't bring a drug on the market without FDA approval! So is the FDA in on it as well? Im allergic to Bioxin. Should i take them to court because it put me in the hospital? Im sure hundred thousand people took that drug and it made them better. If, every time we take a drug and a proportionally small amount of people have an adverse reaction, we take the drug maker to court......... so where does it end ? At what point does an educated person like Dr Helton take responsibility for her own actions? She didn't get Botox for medical reasons. She got it , by choice, with her consent to look younger. That is not a reflection on how great she was with her patients, how well she took care of them, that she listened to their issues and or that she was loved and appreciated as a dr.

I don't get it for cosmetic reasons. That drug is a life saver to me. So i didn't judge you and i strongly suggest you don't judge me. This is a place to voice an opinion regarding that news segment on ch 4.

OK I wasn't aware of any other use for this drug other than cosmetic but I still think your statement was a little harsh toward the Dr.

I didn't mean to sound harsh. But most people are not aware that Botox is an incredible drug that is used for medical purposes more often than cosmetic reasons. People know it because of the miracle wrinkle removing effect. But that is not what the drug originally was used for. They discovered the cosmetic improvements as a side effect when used on patients with medical indications. It is used for severe spasticity in children and adults, eye twitching.......and that list goes on. Its the only drug that really helps people with severe headaches......etc. It is a purified toxin that is no longer active and therefor can not cause botulism. Yes people can have a reaction to that drug just like any other. They can get" botulism like"symptoms, which will go away after a couple days ..... But to go on television and campaign to get Botox off the market, is irresponsible and selfish. Her experience is misleading to the general public.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
