Bird die-off hits Presque Isle

Area biologists found 176 dead birds at Presque Isle State Park on Nov. 25. Researchers believe the deaths were caused by avian botulism, a seasonal paralytic disease that has swept the Great Lakes since 1999.

I don't understand why they just didn't keep picking up the dead birds and take the whole truck load to a funeral home. Now there are dead birds laying around the area. That alone is sickening!

Their gullets and gizzards are packed with corn kernels...this happens every fall in the erie bay. A good sweet corn season in august and an inefficient sewage treatment process in erie= dead birds.
