Nice story! If you knew Gatlin, his personal daily trials, the courage he and his family and friends have and all they endure every day you will give KUDOS to this young man and support this effort to help raise awareness of these diseases, they are utterly devastating on many levels. I sincerely hope everyone reading this will make an effort to help out however they can because this dreadful disease can hit anyone at any time.

Thanks to the Alamogordo Daily News for doing this story on Gatlin. This race is going to be a lot of fun and hopefully raise a lot of money for the two organizations. We have had a lot of help putting this together and a lot of help staying afloat during the past 2 and 1/2 years and that says a lot for the people of this basin. I want to thank each of you who have helped either financialy, emotionally, physically or through prayer. We are truly blessed to live in such a great community. We alslo hope this race brings awareness to pediatric cancers and the need for a cure. There are between 200 and 250 pediatric cancer patients being treated at any given time by the Peds Oncology unit at UNM in Albuquerque. That's a lot of kids for the state of New Mexico. Thanks again and we hope to see you at the race...

This story touched my heart, being a mother of a 13 year old myself, I can not beleive the courage of this teenage boy. My prayers are with this family. It just goes to show us, that we should cherish every moment of life we have with our loved ones.

Dear Gatlin, If possible, please email to me your article that was in the paper. I have a 16 year old great nephew that has just been diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the knee and I believe that you will be able to give him courage and strength to face the future. I am also praying for peace and comfort to you and your family.
