Please....... Please!!!
Share your stories of having mirena removed.
I had to have some test earlier this week and waiting for those to come back on Monday.... pending that I am going to request that my DR remove my Mirena.
But what should I expect after the removal??
Time off work?? Weight Loss?? Sex Drive??( i could care absolutly less about sex now... & I didn't use to be that way)

No time off work needed, it's a really quick thing; much easier than getting it put in! If you're curious about what to expect after removal, go to curezone.com and check out the Mirena threads. I had immediate relief with a little bit of a frustrating adjustment to not using BC, but overall MUCH happier without it.

Good Luck!

Thanks! I did go to that site and look around. Lots of good info.
I've been with out a period for 15 years. And after reading the forum on CureZone I maybe in for a shock; and the other "crash" side effects.

I had my mirena removed wed 2/10; so it's been 8 days now. and have only spotted for 2 days.
No weight loss yet -- but I have not really tried. I need to remember to go home and measure my stomach again to see if any of the bloating has gone away.
I feel fine.
a few lingering headaches -- but again those could be due to anything. Weather, work stress...etc.

I saw a commercial for Mirena on TV last night. Don't get it!!!

Gemma, once you get a real period you should start to feel better. I got mine a couple days after removal and immediately lost the "spare tire", but your long term use of progesterone from the Depo and Mirena may make your cycles really weird for a while. Even though mine came right away, they were not regular for about 4-6 months. I noticed my sex drive came back with a vengeance right after my first period (after 4 years not having one).

I just got my Mirena IUC taken out 3 days ago and already feel a huge increase in my sex drive, which I didn't have for over 3 years with Mirena. My doctor thinks all of my symptoms were "just in my mind" but I had it removed any way and glad I did! Now I would like to hear from anyone out there if I can expect to lose any of the 20lbs. that I gained?

I had mine taken out yesterday after exactly 2 years. I woke up this morning without the usual headache. I don't feel bloated anymore...the relief is instant. I feel like a new woman. Why did I ever fit this coil? Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I just got the mirena iud removed and I couldn't be happier! I only had it for 3 months and I was moody gained like 10 pounds, and all of a sudden peeing became so painful and blood clots began coming out as well. I just knew something was wrong so I went tocthe ER. Turns out the iud turned on me and it was backwards, it scratched my inside and iiritated. I also got to cyst on each ovary and have to be seen Monday in case I need surgery. This has been the worse experience in my life. Am still hurting and bleeding. Hope it all goes away!!:(

i had my mirena removed dec 6th after 2 months shy of my five years being up. i loved it, was the best decision to get it. i NEVER had a pd or spotted on it, no mood swings. i was actually able to lose the wht i gained while on depo and nuva ring.(40 lbs)
and i was terrified of the removal because all i have read on line was horror stories. my dr removed it after about 15 mins ( my strings had ascended shortly after insertion, but i always had the dr get a good visual at annuals to be sure it was where it should be)
i spotted lightly off and on for abuot 10 days its one month later and still no pd tho. i am hoping my body is still waiting for the horomones to leave my body.
i do and have recommended this.

Hi. I just want to say that Mirena may not be for everybody and for all reproductive ages. In my case I had it inserted a year and a half ago. Unfortunately During this period of time I developed cancer cells in my thyroid, high blood pressure and severe water retention. These are symptoms that run in my family therefore I cannot ensure that Mirena was the cause of my problems. However I decided to removed and I feel much better now. My Thyroidectomy is due in a week. I hope the Bayer company considers all these testimonies as the first step to do more research about the products they put in the market. Mirena mlay cause more side effects than benefits and that is why it is important to raise awareness also for doctors who advice to use the device.

I had Mirena put in almost five years ago. I get it taken out this October. After reading all your posts..I CANT WAIT. I also gained 20-30 pounds since having it...experienced moodiness, including deppression the first two years...and my sex drive went to 0...all these things I never had before. I hope I lose the weight...become less moody...and get my sex drive back, my husband will be delighted. I feel doctors will tell you anything to get paid. There has been so many problems with birth controls...and believe Mirena will eventually be recalled. Anything that messes up your NORMAL body functions cannot be good. I am done with female forms of birth controls; I'm tired of being a test subject. My husband will get a vasectomy or wear a condom the rest of our lives :) Thanks to all you women who have put the truth out about this product. We now know more than the DOCTORS.

Had my mirena removed 10 days ago after having it for about 14 months. Started bleeding 2 days after removal, nothing heavy. Last about a week. Now waiting for my hormones to regulate themselves. Feeling so much better though, anxiety is almost gone, no more bloating or tender breasts. This demon wasn't for me.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
