OMG! So good to read these comments. I had been happily taking Ocella for years, and suddenly was switched (without notice) by Rx to Syeda. Suddenly, I am having 7 or 8 days of brown spotting after my period. Really frustrating, because finding the right pill is work, and Syeda is NO Ocella!

So glad to hear I am not crazy! My pharmacy also switched me from Yasmin to Syeda and I've had daily bleeding since! In addition to breakouts, mood swings, insane bloating and sore, swollen breasts. After biopsies and ultrasounds by my OBGYN to figure out why I have such bleeding while on this pill, I'm going off it completely now to let my body regulate my hormones on its own and straighten out my system. What an awful experience Syeda has been!

I have been on Yasmin for 5 years without a problem. After 3 months on Syeda I have gained 8 pounds, I cry several times a week, and have dry skin. Yasmin has went up in cost, but I have to switch back. I am a mess...and so relieved that I found this blog.

wow i thought it was just me that was getting cravings and constantly eating. Also, i thought it was just me being moody, i am glad i read this to see i am not the only one being like this, this birth control has effected every aspect of my life due to being irritable. I need to switch birth control ASAP. Does anybody know of a BC that doesnt have these two side effects? please let me know, that would be great!

My doctor switched me over to BeYaz, which I requested for the folate. One more weeek of this "Syeda" and i'm done! <quoted text> Hi i have the exact same side effects as you, and its completely changed me due to the irritableness & constant eating. What birth control are you on now? and is it different in side effects? please help. thank you.

Thanks to all you girls for the input! I had been on Ocella for years and was very happy when my pahrmacy suddenye switched me to Syeda. I am just finishing my 2nd month of Syeda and I HATE it. I am always hungry, bloated, and tired. In addition I have gained 6lbs and my period is way heavier with spotting in between. I am going to the doc tomorrow so I will keep you posted on the switch!

In the past couple of months of taking Syeda, I too have noticed an incredible increase of appetite. I eat, but don't stay full for very long. Could it be the Syeda? I was hoping it was and not my thyroid acting up. Thanks.

So glad I found these comments. I thought I was going crazy. Little did I know it was the Syeda making me that way. I have had severe migraines since starting this medicine, and I never have headaches. I am also SUPER emotional and overly sensitive. I have also become light-headed when sitting and standing and extremely tired and feelings of my heart racing more often than I have ever noticied before. During my period, it was alot heavier than normal and the cramps were severe. I will be contacting my doctor and getting off these and back to Ocella as quickly as possible.

I called my pharmacy to find out how many years I was taking Yasmin. It was about 3. I didn't have any side effects. Along the way, I was given Ocella, the generic, then Zarah. Then, within the last two months, Syeda, which now I am hungrier. I noticed last month during the week I am supposed to get my period, that I wasn't as hungry. I'll see if I am less hungry this week. I hate thinking about food all the time.
I have always had really bad headaches during my period week while on Yasmin, Ocella, Zarah. Related?

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing issues with Syeda. I was changed to it about 2 months ago and I have been so moody. My periods are heavier. And my desire for sex has gone down a lot -- I think due to the moodiness. I get my prescriptions through the mail, so I get 3 packages at a time (it's cheaper). So I have a couple more weeks of Syeda and then I'm going to try to get back on Yasmin, Ocella or even Zarah. Not a fan of Syeda.

I just saw my dr last week. I was told Syeda isn't even the generic for Yasmin. Ocella was. I just started my new pack of Ocella. I still feel hungry, but not as bad. Hmm

Hmm I went to my pharmacy and they tried to give me Syeda, I turned it down cause it was suppose to have been Ocella. I like to do research before I take a pill. Which pharmacist or what state you were able to get it from cause the rite aid I went to said Ocella is not available anymore.

Cara wrote: Hello, My pharmacy just sprung Syeda on me as the generic to Yasmin. I had tried out Ocella in the past and had VERY bad side effects and switched right back to Yasmin. Has anyone used Syeda? I know it's relatively new so I can't find anything while searching the internet. I experienced the same as you about a year ago. I had a TERRIBLE reaction to Ocella and the pharmacist at Medco pretty much laughed at my complaint. I requested that my Dr. make sure I am only given Yasmin. However, after a change in job situation lead me to ask for generic again to save a little. I specifically said, "No Ocella" and received Sayeda. I didn't notice any difference from Yasmin. I was very happy with it. I'm glad to see there were others who had bad reaction to Ocella. I was told "IT IS THE SAME AS YASMIN" Well, something was very different and horrible. I lasted only one month and threw the rest away.

So glad I looked this up before I started taking Syeda. I was on Yasmin for four years and loved it and then switched to the Nueva Ring for two. Even though I like the Nueva Ring, I wanted to go back on Yasmin and my pharmacy gave me this brand instead. I'm calling them to have it switched asap.

I have been taking syeda for 6 months, after being on Yasmin for 10 years. I haven't noticed any emotional changes, but I do notice that I not have broken capillaries on my face (tiny spider veins) I went to get them removed and my Derm told me that they can be caused by birth control changes. I spend $250 to get them removed, and now the are back again. I am switching back to Yasmin- and will be paying almost 10 times the price. Hopefully Getting Marian this fall after the free birth control thing goes into effect.

Same thing with me... I took Yasmin for many years and was happy, had the most beautiful skin and very light periods. Due to loosing my job and the great insurance I now have to no choice but to take the generic for Yasmin and my Pharmacist gave me this Syeda. I'm experiencing the mood swings... I'm angry and my skin is horrible... I haven't had break outs for years and now my skin is a mess plus I'm getting this weird tiny red sores all over my body. I'm so unhappy but am not sure what to do. This is my first month on this horrible pill.

I've also been on Ocella for 4+ years now and have not had any problems, other than transitional weight gain years ago. I was switched by the pharmacist and told "it's the same thing", but OH MY. I have been so sensitive to everything, crazy mood swings, my skin that never causes a problem has been blotchy and breaking out, and I'm gaining back weight that I've lost in the past 2 months (and I'm geting married in 4 weeks. this is fantastic).. Getting off this ASAP.
