Trust me, I am the worst with taking medication because I usually get all the symptoms that goes along with the medication, but not with Ocella. Thank goodness!! Give it a try!! If it doesn't work switch back. I think alot of these people are scaring away people from taking Ocella. Just because one person has side effects doesn't mean everyone will. IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK!!! I have had diarrhea for the past week non-stop, not to mention extreme bloating, naseau, and vommiting!!!!!!!!!! I hope I scare people away from taking it because it is not worth the risk of getting these horrible gastric problems! TRUST ME!!!!!!! I'm so pissed at my GYN to because when I told her about the problems, she said that Ocella does not cause that and it must be a stomach virus... IT IS NOT A VIRUS!!! And obviously other women out there are experiencing this too.

I have been on BC since I was 17 (so 7 years now), I recently switched from Yaz to Ocella and have been on Ocella for going on 7 months. I have had breakthrough bleeding for the past 6 months (starting on week 2 of the pills). I've also had such severe nausea, which is worse in the mornings, to the point that I have had to call out of work. Just the past two months though, I've been feeling extremely moody (going from great mood to depressed to angry and back) and having extreme cramps to the point of vomiting. Today started month 7 of breakthrough bleeding on the second week of the pill pack...so for the past 7 months I have had 7 weeks of no period and 24 weeks of bleeding...it can't be healthy.
At this point I'm seriously considering just going off of BC for a few months (especially now with all the lawsuits about Yasmin & Ocella!!)
Does anyone have any advice?

When I first started taking Yasmin I did not have any weight gain. It has been about 8 months since i switched to Ocella and I have noticed that it's harder for me to loose the ten pounds that I have packed on since switching. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced weight gain?

Christina wrote: As I have said before take the pill and perhaps you'll get it. ALL these women are not making their symptoms up. I would never come to you as a customer anyways despite your "GREAT" intelligence. That is so true. Nobody wants to use their time to lie about their symptoms on the internet. This is how people feel and people feel different! It is better to ask your doctor about generics, not to listen some "real pharmacists". The Real "real pharmacists" do not attack the way this genious does, they explain things one time in sivil manner. Sometimes the generic is just perfect, letīs say with antibiotics, but when you are dealing with hormones and birth control, which is already messing your body even if there are no bad symptoms, it is always best to trust your own body. My question is - can these bad symptoms be just a cause for not taking this new drug for long enough? Is it the switch from Yasmin to Ocello which makes these symptoms? What is the reason for so many people feeling so bad with Ocello? And I want somebody who has asked this from doctor (not pharmacist) to answer.

I was on another low-estrogen birth control, Junel or something, which made me feel ver suicidal and so my doctor recommended trying Orcella. I had read about it being the generic of Yasmin and so I was willing. I just finished my third pack, I have a huge rash slowly spreading up the whole front of my left leg, at first I didnt even know it was possible to be a side effect of the pill. I also have been having trouble smiling and being happy in general which is not me. I feel numb, not happy, not sad, not anything. I feel robbed of my emotions except annoyance. Everything rubs me the wrong way but then goes away quickly. I feel so robotic without this usual emotions. I dont like it. I want to ask my doctor if I can go on Yasmin. I miss myself and so do a lot of my friends. There are good side effects, it has almost completely cleared up my acne, it keeps getting better every month. It has kept me child free and it only costs $7 a month. In my opinion though, Yasmin seems worth the extra money.

Ocella is dangerous! Have daughter who broke out into serious hives and swelling and took several months to figure out what the issue was, as she had been on this generic for awhile. Will take months to get out of her system and I pray that it has done no serious damage. Do not take this drug!
