My girlfriend has been taking this for a year first few months where okay then I noticed the her sex drive has slowly disappeared. Now she gas non at all she goes from being happy to flipping out about the simplest things and it's getting to a point I can't handle it. Worst thing is she has been getting horrible head aches for the past 2 months and she refuses to try any other kind of birth control I'm just worried for her and she won't listen

Head aches, no sex drive mood swings are side effects. Have her look up spintec like you and see all the side effects. I had many I hadn't realized were related to this pill until I read them on forums. Like leg cramps, blurred vision, heart palps, dark spots on my face. I thought I was getting older... The mood swings are hard as unfortunately you do not see the change others do. I didn't see it for some time but finally noticed I was yelling at my kids quite often which is so unlike me. I saw a friend have the mood swings she was very angry and found out later that she a a pill that was doing this to her. Not sprintec but the point is the person taking it honestly doesn't realize how crazy they are becoming which is scary. And we certainly don't want to her our husband/boyfriend tell us that as we are convinced they are the problem..lol Well for me anyways..

Hi! I have just started the Tri-Sprintec three weeks ago and the side effects killing me;(. The cramps are terrible. I can't sleep at night and I am constantly bleeding. I called to my doctor and he said that this is normal and after three months the symptoms will dispenser. This doesn't help me at all. I need to take this evil pill only for three month because of the cyst on my ovary. Tri -Sprintec should be not available in the drug stores!!!!!!

I have been taking this pill for 2 years now. I have had some side effects from it before. I usually get pretty bad headaches before my period and very moody. Other than that nothing ever to bad. Now my period is a week away and I have sore breasts and nipples, cramps, backaches, mood swings, white discharge and constipation. All SIGNS OF BEING PREGNANT. I am very worried the pill has failed me. I took the pill religious for the most part. The only time I have missed was 2 weeks ago on vacation I was 10 hours late on a pill. I am very afraid I'm pregnant now.

I agree. This is my first birth control pill ever and I have been using it since January of 2010. I haven't had any problems. I use to have really bad cramps and heavy bleeder when I was young and since I have tried the pill, I only have cramps my first day and my period is lighter, thank God. I have not missed a pill but I did mess up the time that I took the pill. We stopped using condoms in February of 2010 and I have not gotten pregnant, and don't plan on it for another 5years, God willing. I didn't realize that people were having bad experiences but I guess everybody reacts differently. But I love the pill.

I've been on the pill for about 2 weeks now and I've been experiencing cramps and headaches. The only reason I'm on birth control is to shrink a cyst on my ovary.. After reading all these comments I am scared to take anymore of these horrible PILLs.. Uh guess I'm gunna call my doctor tomorrow!!!

Okay, I was put on yaz back when I was like 17of I do believe. I only took them for like 2of months then the doctor took me off on them since they was bad. He put me on tr-sprintec and have been on them for 3 years! They are horrible, I have been cramping ever since I think May or April, they haven't gone away. Im not positive that its the pill, but I know im not pregnant I thought I was but im not, had my periods! So I think it is the pill. Has any one had this happen?

I've been on BC since June of 2010. I was allergic to the Nuva Ring and my mom is allergic to the Pill. But my doctor decided to try it. I got switched to Tri-Sprintec and I really like it. I went to college this fall, and my health center on campus doesn't carry Tri-Sprintec and they switched me to Trinessa. I've been really tired this past week, more moody, and more bloated. I want to switch back to Tri-Sprintec because I haven't ever had any problems with it. Is that normal switching between the two, because I am considering switching right back to Tri-Sprintec.

ive been on this stupid birth control for about two months and it abs sucks... i have alot of cramping constantly, alot more headaches, and my moods have been crazy. I'm not one to cry and all i want to do lately is cry.. Ive been on other forms of birth control like the shot nd had no problem whats so ever with that set aside having my period for the first three months but after that i was scott free. i abs loved the shot too bad its very bad for your body all birth control is but i rather take it then get pregnant before i am ready for a child. i highly recommend NOT using tri sprintec my opinion it makes all symptoms that you are having very much worse. i also think women should not have to suffer through three months of symptoms because your gyno just wants to makes money off ur insurance or money out of your pocket.

I've been on tri-sprintec since December 19th, 2011. I hate it. I'm bi-polar, and i've been medicated a year now. When I started taking this my moods were out of control. It's like I hadn't been taking my medicine. My sex drive is gone, my appetite is completely gone. I have no energy. My husband was eager to figure out when we could have sex without a condom, which I didn't even want to do. I have a 3.5 year old and a 1 year old. It says this medicine is supposed to stop ovulation, well i'm ovulating! I've always been able to tell. Mild cramping and that slimy, nasty crap on my underwear every time I look! We had unprotected sex on the 29th, and my ovulation calendar says i'm fertile then. I pray to God i'm not pregnant. We'll see. I used to be on Ortho-tryciclen yearssss ago and I had no side effects from it! They are not the same thing.
Oh and one of my mood stabilizer medicines interacts with this birth control, making my mood stabilizer medicines less effective so they've have increased my dose on that. It's pure hell!

Hi everyone, I am a 27 year old white female who has had success with birth control pills so far. I started on tri-sprintec (I always have to get the generics) and bounced to Yaz's generic after a few years. I took one year off at 25 -- but I didn't record how I felt etc. It was simply because I wasn't dating or having sex. Now I've gotten back on, and was using Yaz again. I got break through bleeding so my gyno put me back on tri-sprintec. I completely sympathize with all of you ladies. I am super sensitive. Something sappy on the television is enough I'd start crying a few tears of "empathy". I am very moody, and ironically just put together why I feel sick an hour or so after taking my daily dose. I have had two months of bad break through bleeding. Last month it hit me a week before my period. So I gave it another shot this month. I wasn't even through my first row of pills before I started getting that thick, coagulated brown discharge that turned into like a full on period but more mucous like. Disgusting. I've decided that it's time for another break. The side effects are far out weighing its supposed benefits.

Read all the comments this pill has horrible effects and yours are just a few many people complain about. These are the better of the side effects. Please research this pill. There are always a few people who have no trouble but like 80% have horrible side effects with this pill! So I guess this is normal for this pill but there are many others without terrible effects and not worth waiting until you get the worst ones mentioned by taking it longer. I only hope the pain others have described here can stop other woman from staying on it longer to experience further problems. I am one of those woman. I had almost 20 years wtihout any effects until I got stuck with a terrible health care plan who wanted to save a buck and stuck me with this one.

About 9 months ago I switched birth controls to trinessa because of mood swings and cramping, and I absolutely loved it! Just this past month walgreens stop taking my insurance so I switched to CVS. They don't carry trinessa so they put me on tri-sprintec and said it was supposed to be the same! let me tell you, IT'S NOT! I've only taken the pill for a week in a half and I have been nothing but crazy! Because I was moody as all get out, it almost ended my engagement! I have been depressed (which is not me at all, I'm hardly ever in a bad mood!) for over a week! DO NOT GET ON TRI-SPINTEC... if you are use to trinessa!

Omg this brand is horrible I think my dosage might be too high or something idk. I use it for my ovarian cyst so I can have a period every month. I get HORRIBLE headaches and I've only been on the pill for 6 days. I've never had a headache like the ones that i was getting on the pill. Today i didnt take the pill and i havent had a slight headache yet nor am i moody. It has also changed my moods. It's pretty rare for me to get as moody as I was on this pill. I was annoyed with everything and everyone. I had an attitude for no reason and I couldn't control it. I woke up mad at the world and that's very odd. I'm not going to say don't use it because everyone's body is different, but I do know I'm switching to something else.
