I've been on Jolivette since my daughter was born Oct.'09. I have been unable to lose any weight. It seems like I gain weight while I sleep! I'm on weight watchers, I've tried everything, but can't lose a single pound! I've never had this problem before. I'm weening my daughter now and thinking about calling my doctor to have them put me back on the combo pill. Can anybody tell me if they were able to start consistently losing weight once they stopped taking Jolivette? Was it easier, or seem easier once the pill was out of your system? Any idea would be helpful. I'm so sick of looking at myself. Busting my butt to try to drop the weight, but only looking at the scale to see it go up when I'm doing nothing to make it go up! I lost the 13 pounds I gained during my pregnancy after I had my daughter, but as soon as I started Jolivette, I haven't been able to drop anymore weight! Has anybody successfully started losing weight when they stopped taking Jolivette?

I got pregnant w/#2 when #1 was 10 months old and I had only been off Jolivette for about 4 months so I didn't have any luck there.... buuuttt after I had #2 in May of 2010 I didn't go on any birth control at all that time. I was able to lose the 25 lbs I gained w/ her no problem and then another 20, which I've still kept off now. So YES I've been much better since not being on that horrible pill. Besides the weight problem I had many other symptoms as well- bad acne, no sex drive, depressed, etc.

I too gained allot of weight, but recently started purging and have lost the weight but now my teeth are turnging yellow any suggestions
Please stop purging. That is not the way to go. The acid in your stomach is what turns your teeth yellow, besides doing damage to alot of other organs. Please seek medical help.

My fertility doc prescribed this pill. After taking it for one cycle, here I am trying to figure out if Jolivette is what's giving me this horrible itchy rash! It's on my arms, knees, upper thighs and wrists. They are small bumps (smaller than mosquito bites) and itch like MAD. Anyone else have this problem? Do you know how many times I've looked in our bed with bright lights to make absolute SURE we don't have bedbugs?!(P.S. We don't!)
I have had similar issues with the itching and the small bumps which seem to get worse at night in bed so i thought there were bugs in my bed too. Not only did the rash show up but the bad acne on my face chest and back. Also experiencing itchy scalp.think its time to stop jolivette Altogether!

WOW! I had my 4th child in December 2010. I started the pill (Jolivette)late December. I have not had any weight gain. I actually have lost weight. I went from 145 to 142 and still losing. But you guys have to understand that when yo have babies you do gain weight. Your bodies go through so many changes. Also you have to think about your metabolism. I have high metabolism, so it is hard for me to gain weight. I don't have to exercise the weight just go. So talk to your Dr about that and see what the outcome is.

Good luck

YEA! I'M NOT ALONE EITHER. So...I am 5'1 about 115 before I had my 1st child in 2008. I breastfed my 1st child and weight flew off of me. I became pregenant with my 2nd child Sept 2010 and gave birth 3 months ago. Had my 6 week check up as scheduled and my doctor prescribed Jolivette to me. I'm 135 lb (I think, I'm afraid to look at the scale). However, I will admit that I haven't been working out because of school, work and 2 kids....so that's probably why I'm a little on the chunk side. Lol...but I will say that I haven't had any problems with acne; that is the good thing. Because my skin is very prone to acne....so right now I have no pimples!

I too have had vaginal discomfort while taking this pill. I was wondering if that had been causing it.

I had been taking Jolivette for seven months and was totally fine! I gained 55 lbs and lost 45 after about a month. The 10lbs kind of lingered but if I worked out consistently I saw it coming off. THEN the pharmacist changed me to Norethindrone and said it is the same. ITS NOT to me... Instant bloating, weight gain, moodiness, nervousness, the list goes on an on. I am stopping tonight!
Everyone's body is so different! And on the other end if you have to hold onto an extra 10 - 20 lbs so you can nurse your child you should be thankful that your baby will be healthy! It is one to two years then worry about having the perfect body! Your nursing will matter to your child forever:) This coming from avid runner, surfer, yogi, soccer player that lives in the OC!

I have been feeling crsay, I am so happy to see these posts. I had surgery in April for endometriosis and am on birth control to keep it under control and keep my eggs healthy so I can have kids one day, however, with this weight gain, acne, low sex drive, depression, and anxiety I'll never get a boyfriend. I'm on thyroid meds and I am gaining...does anyone know if there is a birth control that will not make you gain weight? I'm trying to do the right thing and I feel like I am being punished!!!

I have only been taking this pill about a month, and have already noticed a considerable weight gain. The gain was so noticeable that I thought that I was pregnant again. I have not talk to my doctor yet, but I can not afford to gain th 40 pounds that many of you have mentioned gaining. I weighed 200 pounds without them.

I have had the same problem! I was losing almost 2 pounds/week until I was put on Jolivette at 6 weeks post-partum. Instantly the weight loss stalled, and I have not lost an ounce in the 13 weeks since! I count every calorie, weigh every portion, and run 3x a week. I have tried cutting calories more and more, and still weigh exactly the same!!! I just had my doc change me to a different pill - she prescribed Lo Loestrin, so we will see if cutting down the amount of hormones helps. It's still the same type of progestin, though, so I am skeptical. Anyone have this problem and switched to a pill that solved it?

Wow! I came across this site because like many of you I have experienced a great deal of weight gain since I had my daughter in July of 2011. I droppes 20 lbs within the first month. I started taking Jolivette and gained 20 lbs within 3 weeks. Now I'm almost at the weight I was when I gave birth! This is getting ridiculous. I understand that your body changes after having children but it's no explanation for this amount of weight gain other than this pill. The only reason I should change weight this much is if I was sitting on my couch eating Bon-bons everyday. Now I don't feel alone. I am convinced it's the pill. I just took the last pill in my packet today and I am stopping this pill. I will report back and let you all know of my progress. Thanks for sharing your stories ladies, this is giving me hope!!!

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
