Hi,
I just started my third month of OTC last week.. The week before then, my period came of the 4th day of my green pills. I just had sex last week after my period was over. We used a condom, none of them broke either, and I've never missed a pill. I take OTC religiously. But now I get a weird "feeling" that I might be pregnant. While I'm reading these stories, I'm getting kind of afraid because some of your are saying that you've gotten pregnant while on the pill. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I have shortness of breath, and I get tired earlier. Sometimes I have to go to the bathroom (but I've been drinking a lot of water lately). I really hope I'm not pregnant because I would be HIGHLY disappointed in this birth control. It says it's supposed to be effective, but I'm starting to believe it's not. What do you guys think??

I am getting cramps but I heard you could get those when you are pregnant. I am a little worried. Has anyone gotten pregnant on Ortho Tri cycle Lo? I take my pill regularly and just swithed to the Lo three months ago? those side effects are very common for is pill. it is supposed to go away in a month or so but if they dont then i would suggest switching or talking to a doctor.

Darlene wrote: I started the pill 2 weeks ago today and I've had my period since then. It has not stopped. Is that normal? Should I be worried? Anyone else have this problem? when I first started taking birth control, I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I bled for three weeks straight... Terrible!!! When I talked to my doctor, however, he mentioned that I might need a higher dosage of the hormones to get my body under control. I am 5'9" and weight 170 lbs, so when I thought about it I realized that my body is larger than a lot of women, so a higher dosage could work. I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen (the 35 mcg dosage) and almost immediately my body fell into the four-week cycle. I've been fine ever since (10 months). If this sounds like it could apply to you, and the bleeding doesn't get any better after another week or so, talk to your doctor - you may need a higher dosage! Hope this helps :) Good luck!

When I first started the pills i had my period for 16 days. Turns out nothing was wrong my body was just having issues adapting to the new hormones. It dis make me question the effectiveness though.

I am not too consistant with taking the pill and occaisionally take two pills in one day after missing from the day before. I am married and frequently have sex and have never gotten pregnant....just a testament to the efficac of OTL.

I've been on OTL for 4 to 5 months and lately i've been feeling really sick and getting cramps randomly im over a month late and i don't know what to do im under 18 and im not ready for a kid i have no one to confide in except my boyfriend who is supportive and we both hope its nothing but ultimately could i have gotten pregnant? I know that this pill is low dose so people are more likely to get pregnant. I've been displaying symptoms but they could be other things right?
Advice? Please and thank you

This has been the longest period to me...seven days. Will it end before I get to the green pills or will I have to suffer another week? Also I have been taking my pills at the same time everyday, so no missed pills. Is this my body way of adjusting to the pills or should I contact my doctor? Please please comment. Thanks. this happened to me too. almost the same time frame as you. im wondering what it is...

I have very bad cramps for 2 days now and I'm not due for my period until another 8 more days (which is when the sugar pills are supposed to be taken) which is when I usually get my period. Does anyone take this pill because now I'm thinking of switching birth controls. I thought when you take birth control it is supposed to help you with your cramps. So I was thinking all day I was going to get my period but it has not come yet. I have very sore nipples and my breasts are very full. I had forgotten to take my BC for a couple days at the right time but I doubt I could be pregnant. BC is supposed to stop ovulation so I doubt I'd be pregnant. But my stomach is so bad and also breasts. Thanks!

I was on my period my entire first month of using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Light flow, but still annoying. I called my OBGYN she said it's normal for this to happen, especially because I had never used any form of birth control before and it was just my body getting used to the extra hormones. Although during the fourth week, using the green pills I did get my "period". It was just a much heavier flow for a few days. And I stopped bleeding and it's been a wonderful last couple of weeks!

I've been taking ortho-lo for over 3 months My period was due 3 days ago. I take my pill at the same time every night, but I don't always use protection when my hubby and I have sex. I use webmd's ovulation calculator to mark ovulation days to be extra careful. It's usually been dead-on accurate. Maybe this is just going to be an irregular period, or maybe I should take a pregnancy test. I generally don't get Oma symptoms (lucky me) but I've had some light cramping and feeling nauseous randomly. Advice? Or anyone else had/in a similar situation?
