I've been on it for a few months now, starting it in October, and I take it every day, not exactly at the same time, but within two to three hours around the normal time. I'm not taking any medication to mess it up at all, and my period was supposed to come yesterday (as it has been exactly 28 days everytime I've taken it) and did have sex around my ovulation date.

What is the possibility that I could be pregnant? I have already taken a pregnancy test (E.P.T.) and it came out negative.

Hi,
I am in the same boat. I am suppose to get my period this Friday but I cant help but think I am pregnant. My breasts are sore, and I am nauseous. I am getting cramps but I heard you could get those when you are pregnant. I am a little worried. Has anyone gotten pregnant on Ortho Tri cycle Lo? I take my pill regularly and just swithed to the Lo three months ago?

Hey!
My name is Kati, im 19 years old, and I was on Ortho Trycyclin Lo for a year when i became pregnant. I am now 6 months pregnant.
I was a week late when i realized that i had been nauseus ( i can never spell that word) for about a week and my breasts were also a bit sore and that i should probably take a test.
My first, second and third home tests were all positive and i went to the planned parenthood who confirmed it.
its very hard, but im getting through it and am looking forward to meeting my daughter.
Let me know how your situation turns out!! its hard, but if you are pregnant, there are alot of people out there to help you.

So are those who are on OTL more capable of getting pregnant than with other pills?

The pill is only like 99.99% effective [or something close to that] so there is and will always be a chance of getting pregnant. Even if you have your tubes tied and burnt and clipped and whatever else...you can still get pregnant. My neighbor is proof of that.

All the doctors say that you have to give your body at least 3mths to adjust. So if it's been more than that, contact your doctor or a clinic. If it's less then just wait and see.

Hey there,
I am 27 years old and have been on OTL for the last three years after suffering from side effects from other birth control pills with higher levels of hormones. I am not too consistant with taking the pill and occaisionally take two pills in one day after missing from the day before. I am married and frequently have sex and have never gotten pregnant....just a testament to the efficac of OTL.

Hi Kari,
I'm also on OTL..and have been for the past 6 months. Unless you have been missing your pills, or taking them at random times, you SHOULD be okay.. However, I think you should take a home pregnancy test, or to a local clinic like Planned Parenthood to check if you are pregnant. From my experience, Planned Parenthood will NOT tell your parents. It's completely confidential, and it's absolutely free. If you do end up being not pregnant, I'd advise you to set a timer on your cell phone to help remind you to take yor birth control at the same itme every night!

yes, i've heard it's because it has such a low dose of hormones in it.

Ive randomly found this site. I read kari's message and thats the same kind of question.
I have been taking Ortho Cyclen since I was 12 due to a extremly rare for my age ovarian cyst. I quit about a few years ago and stayed off untill now. Ive been on it for atleast 6 months now. My questions/advice/words of wisdom are: I'm almost sure Im not missing days and taking it on time ever day, but my point is after today i'll have 3 more green pills to take before I start a new months worth of pills. I normally start within 3 days of the green pills and havent this time. Does any one know of or have herd after so many green pills you start by a doctor ? Is there any little signs as to how long I should wait before getting a pregnacy test ? Ive been reading online and am well aware of the signs, but have never been preg before. however I love kids. PLEASE PLEASE send some comments.Or others experience, something that might help me. I'm very worried, because as with many MANY women, this is not the "right" time for me to be having a baby! Mindy~
( PS. the good thing is I do have an amazing boyfriend whom we are in a serious relationship and have been for 2 years. but as we'd/Id hoped to have my own house before starting a family )

I started the pill 2 weeks ago today and I've had my period since then. It has not stopped. Is that normal? Should I be worried? Anyone else have this problem?

hey,
I've been taking the pill for about 3 months now and I've noticed something odd. On occasion I felt a kind of cramping up near my ovaries/fallopian tubes before my period would start.
This time I had sex while still on start of a new pack with the white pills and I've felt that cramping sensation again. It's predominately on the left side, but the right twinges every now and then. I just finished up my period, but is it possible against all odds that I am pregnant?

I'd take a pregnacy test just in case. When I was on the green pills, it usually wouldn't come until the 3rd pill day. Maybe yours will come on the 4th day. I'd check with a doctor if I were you.
