Has anyone noticed a change in their ability to have an orgasm after going on this pill?

This pill has been great for me. No changes in mood, in fact, I think it decreased some of my moodiness. No change in sex drive and is clearing my skin. Period is lighter and little pain. This is all great as my periods were horrible, my pms was horrible and my skin was icky. I do think I've gained some weight, but I will take a few lbs over my terrible periods. Don't let the reviews stress you out. Everyone is different!

My doctor thought birth control would be a good idea being I had crazy periods this is the only one I have ever tried and iv been on it for about 6 months. I'm extremely moody, have moments where I just hate my life and wanna give up, most things ether make me very angry or very upset. Lately after I eat I get stomach aches and head aches. Kinda just feel like a mess. I'm just guessing its the pill tho ?

Ive been taking microgestin for over a year and i love it. I was given this pill because i get aura migraines which give me a higher risk of stroke with estrigen pills, and this pill has a lot less. I definitely have a sex drive, almost too much but maybe thats just me, and my breast have grown almost two sizes. It is kind of weird but i also dont get my period. I went to my gyno about that but she said it was normal, so i save so much money on pada and NO MORE CRAMPS, and of course i dont get pregnant. I havrnt noticed any changes in mood either. I am very happy with this pill

It may have nothing to do with the pill. You may have concurrent problems with depression/stress, which is what it sounds like you're describing. You should schedule a visit with your regular doctor to rule that out/in. I started taking microgestin 2 months ago to help clear up my acne and get my periods regular. I also turned 18 and was finally on my own medically. I'd always wondered whether or not I had depression (it runs in the family and I've shown some symptoms for a long time) and decided to look into it after my birth control appointment. I noticed that my mood got increasingly worse, I thought because I was finally coming to terms with my depression. I didn't think for a second about any non-period related side effects. I've also felt extra bloated (especially after eating), my headaches (which have always been pretty bad) have worsened, I have been very short and pissy with everyone, including people who have never bothered me in my life, and I have had absolutely no sex drive. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this, and I'm definately going to take next month off to see if this is what's been causing all these problems.

I have been taking Microgestin Fe 1/20 since I was about 16 and now I am 19. I never read anything up on this pill, because it was my first time ever taking birth control I figured anything the doctor gave me would work. Well I've had some good and bad experiences with this pill. The good, my boobs did increase in size, my cramps from my periods totally disappeared, I had little bleeding or no bleeding at all on my period weeks. The bad, my sex drive decreased, I don't see sex as a big part of my life anymore and I don't usually want to have it unless my boyfriend comes onto me first and gets me turned on, and I used to have sex ALOT, I got yeast infections like crazy seemed like once I got rid of one another one came a few weeks afterwards, I got moody ALOT or cried at every single little thing, even my closest friends and family could tell my mood changed.
I now have an appointment tomorrow to change because this has been going on far to long and I thought it was just me being crazy and making things up until I came on here and read everyone's post! Hopefully the new pill will have better outcomes:)

I am 18 years old and have never gotten a period. My hormone levels are abnormally low and I have gained over 40 pounds in about a year because of it. I just went on Microgestin Fe 1/20 about two weeks ago and my doctor is hoping this will increase my hormone levels and lead to a possible period. The only symptom I can strongly feel is tiredness, nothing too crazy. I hope I will get my period so I no longer have to worry about this!

Cindy wrote: It makes me sad and concerned to see so many women and teens on this board suffering so much just to take The Pill. I just don't think depression, moodiness, major weight gain, or serious nausea are worth it. I hope everyone has realized that, as women, we are not REQUIRED to take The Pill. If you are suffering to the extent that it is affecting your relationships or your daily happiness and ability to enjoy your young life, I'd urge you to consider just saying NO to The Pill. Then find another form of birth control; or abstain until you're in a committed "I love you" monagamous relationship; or just make your boyfriend wear a condom. Not everyone takes the pill for contraception. I was prescribed it to help regulate my periods as I am severely anemic and a iron supplements haven't been effective. I have been in microbestin for a month and feel depressed. It is a terrible dilemma to be in. Either loose significant amounts of blood each month during your period and be tired and depressed? Or take BC and feel tired and depressed? In sum, please don't assume that all women who take the pill are doing so to make it easier for a man.

I've only been on microgestin for 1 month, I just started my 2nd month and I'm wondering if I should switch back to the pill I was on before, beyaz. I've been stressing out for the last month wondering why my boobs were bigger (which isn't a bad thing but I already have a 1 year old, so getting pregnant again is a big no thank u right now so I constantly worry) I also have absolutely no sex drive at all and although I didn't have a period last month, I've been cramping for 2 weeks non stop. Beyaz was ok, but it made me extremely hormonal and crazy during my periods so I asked to try somethin new. I haven't told my husband yet about the no sex drive because I'm worried he'll think its him, but I know its not because I never had this problem before now. I'm not sure what to do, I would love to not take birth control but my periods were absolutely horrific when I wasn't on BC and I really don't want to go back to that. Any suggestions?

so i thought it was a problem that my oartner and I were just watching movies and not having sex. I am a very sexual being absolutley want it everyday, I started taking these pills and my sex drive also vanished!!! it decreased everyday and had me thinking I wasn't attracted to my partner. My cramps are out of this world painful. It seems like I'm gaining weight but I always think that. Now I'm at college and my doctor is at home and I'm not going home until a few months so I'm stuck!

I have been taking microgestin fe 1/20 for only a week. I was on lo loestra fe before that for only 1 month. I am only taking a pill because of severe bleeding during my periods. Today will be my last day taking it. I will just deal with the periods. I have developed acne, gained 5-7 lbs. I cannot stop eating. The main problem is I have constant nausea. I keep taking pregnancy tests because I FEEL pregnant. I'm a runner and I almost can't get out and run without forcing myself to.

I've been on microgesting Fe 1/20 for three months and my boobs are so sore, yes they look a bit larger and that's a plus but not for the discomfort of feeling lost the week prior to my period. I feel depress, have no sex drive, I'm mad at the world, have gained weight, my fingers are swollen and I litteraly drown in a glass of water but my doc wont' take me off of it..he says it is too soon ;( It has helped control my hormonal inflactuation but that's it...going crazy though. I'm in my early 40's if that helps anyone.
Good luck -looking forward to getting off microgestin....

I have been taking this pill for almost five months now and there are a few changes I have noticed. I may have gained a few pounds but I read a review below that suggests a water pill. I was only depressed for the first week but then my body adjusted. My sex drive has nearly vanished. The only good thing is that it has completely cleared up my skin which is the only reason I am still on it. I am actually considering going off just because of the weight issue. Has anyone had any negative side effects once they stopped taking the pill ?

I have been on this pill for nearly two months. Pros: Barely any period. Don't even need a pad, just panty liners. No need for pain medication for the minor cramps.
Cons: hard to lose weight. Seems to settle in lower stomach, hips and thighs. Breast hurt and tender all the time. Can't go down steps without a bra pain free. Lower sex drive yet orgasms are heightened and intense. Emotionally a little more sensitive. Acne was bad during first month but getting better.
Will stay on for a few more months to see if I'll stabilize. Will provide an update at month four.
