Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo

Hi I just started taking ortho tri cyclen lo five days ago..and I went from have like ten pimples to like 100 little ones all over my face..is this normal should I be worried or is this the initial breakout..and when will it get better??

IWell, after i had my daughter 4 yrs ago, i started on a birth control method which was the depo shot. I hated it! I had really bad depression, as well as anxiety and i gained 30 pounds! My skin was acne free which was a plus. I also became anemic, and had major hair loss! And my bones would pop and muscles hurt bad.But i stayed on the shot 2 yrs, the worst years of my life. But i switched to a nuvaring, which i liked. The only dide effect was i had yeast infections all the time.and plus taking that ring out and inserting it was a little weird. My partner could feel the ring during intercourse, but it wasn't a mood killer. Lol. But i wanted to switch to a pill. So i decided to take a pill call lo estrin fe. Which made me get back- ne( back acne) severe backne. And my face broke out on my chin. Side of face, and forehead! I gained 15 pounds! And my moods went from little angel to she devil! The worst! And i stayed on my cycle 7 days. So now its been 3 months. And tomorrow i am starting ortho tricyclen lo! I am excited! I hope it clears my acne and backne! So wish me luck! Thanks:)

Hi i have bern on Ortho for a year now. It started off making me really nauseous because my body has to adjust. It has really help regulate my period to 4 days long. I have gained about 6 pounds within the year i have been on this birth control so thats not too bad because i eat healthy and walk daily. The bad is i have no sex drive at all, it really took a kick out of my sex life. My mood swings are horrible and all over the place so it drives my boyfriend crazy. Also the depression i have gone through was terrible, i was so sad and unhappy and did not even want to work or go to school.

Does this clear acne?

I was put on Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo by Planned Parent Hood 5 years ago because I didn't have insurance. It was so much better than taking the regular BC pills and I didn't have the nasty side effects anymore. Well, 2 years ago I tried switching back to the regular cause it was cheaper and than mad me wacko! So, I switched back to Ortho Lo and I've never gained weight. I get one great month of 2 day periods that are very light then I get a month of 5 day slightly heavy periods and I can almost guess exactly which day my period will start on. I'm coming off the pill cause the Blood Pressure has started to elevate and so I'm letting my body rest. BTW, proper diet and exercise will regulate your body. This has been done for centuries!

I've been in ortho tri cyclen for almost a month , I'm going to take my 3rd pill tonight . I take them at the EXACT same time everyday never missed one and my period still hasn't came , I'm 16 and not sexually active except my boyfriend fingered me like 3 weeks ago and I know in my pregnant so what's wrong with me !!!! And btw I've been switixging from different types of birth control since 7th grade !!

Hi! I was on depo for a year and hated it. I had no other choice because I breast fed for a year. I wish that the depo wasn't an option for any one. It was terrible. I am on ortho lo and so far love it. I'm usually very sensitive to the hormones and haven't had any weight gain or mood swings. Although, I am convinced that every BC pill gives me acne. I know it's opposed to help acne but when I am not taking any form of BC I do not have acne! Weird? Any one else have this issue???

I have had the same problem!! Hope it goes away for both of us!! I've not been on long enough to offer reassurance though, sorry!

I'm really scared to start the pill because i do not want to gain any weight!
