no period after the patch!

ok, i decided judt to start this topic on its own.....to welcome new people with the same problem and to get my story out so maybe more people can read it and i can see if anyone else can relate...

OK, i was on the patch for 15 months....i took my last one off in january, had my regular "withdrawl" period like i always did when i take the patch off, only i never put another one back on because i was done with it!
Feb 27th, i had a normal period....then i skipped march, and it came again on april 19th....then it was late but came on may 27th...now it is august 29th and i havent had one since may!!!
Ive taken several pregnancy tests, all are negative,so im not pregnant...i have no insurance, and the health department cant get me in for over a month!....
I have been getting the cramps like my period is gonna come, but it never does....and a couple of times we have had sex it hurts with deep penetration, but not extremely bad, just uncomfortable....also the last week or so ive had what seems like a stomach virus, but i dont know if its related to coming off birth control or not seeing how i came off of it in january...
Ijust wanna know, if anyone evr went through the same thing or is going through the same thing...or just wants to share their experience with the patch...
Sometimes it just eases your nerves to know that you are not the only one in this situation...
Im now at 3 months w/no period and counting...

I had normal periods when I was on the patch. In July 2005, I got off the patch because I hated the way it made me feel. then I would have a period around every 4 or 5 months. However, I still haven't had my period and it has been 9 months. I am not pregnant, and have been to the doctor and all the tests came back fine. The doctor also gave me a shot of progesterone over a month ago, but no period. I wish I knew what was going on.

the same with me but i took amnesteem. last one i had was in july and it is now april and nothing yet! i'm actually liking this though and i'm dreading for it to return but i know it's not healthy but my tests are fine as well and nothing's wrong.

i was on the patch for a little over a year. we decided we wanted to start a family, so i saw my doctor and got off the patch.
we waited and waited, no cycle. all tests came back negative. after about two months, i saw my doctor and she gave me ovulation pills because she said it's common with the patch that you don't ovulate for a while afterwards. i got my period after i started the pills, but that was the last time i got it and its been since february.
one of my co-workers sisters, didn't have a period for a year after she went off the patch.
this seems to be pretty typical from what i hear.

samething going on here for me too. I was on it for about 2 years on and off and my period always came when I would stop. I stopped completly taking it in may of this year since I was getting married and I figured I'll get off it and give my body a couple of years to get back to normal since by then I would be ready to start a family. I wasn't expecting not to get my period though since I would hop off the patch for a couple of months and it always would start back up like normal during my use. I went and saw my doctor in august and she gave me something to start my period back up and it did once I took all the medication but it came once and never since. My major concern is just how long will it take and if it will ever be back to normal so if I wanted to start a family I could and wouldn't have to worry about it. I wish I had known the potential of this happening so that I could of made a better decision on if I wanted to get on the patch in the first place

ok soo i got on the patch feb. 7 and had it on for 1 week. later took it off and never put on a new one so I got my period that was feb 15, and never put one back on. Today is March 16 and nothing should I now follow the cycle since feb 15 or feb. 7. By the way, I have all the symptoms I get when am on it, Bloating, swollen breasts constipation and I've had them for over a week and still no period... I feel really bloated and extremely lazy.

Last month I stopped using the patch after the end of the cycle because me and my boyfriend broke up. Now its over a month since i stopped and I still havent gotten it.

Wow...this has me a little concerned now. I was thinking of going on the patch because I do not believe I can remember to take a pill every day, also I didn't like the side effects my sister recieved when she got the shot either. I thought remembering something once a week would be easy and also that I could control my period...But if it may cause problems with my cycle when I stop taking it, it may screw my chances of having children...Now I'm not certain if I should take it or not...

wow, Davina, the EXACT same thing is happening to me right now. had my last patch in July,then had a period that was a week late in august. now its November and I still haven't had another period. all pregnancy tests come back negative, and I have really sore breasts. at this point I don't have money the go to the doctor, but I was planning on trying to concieve, so now what do I do?? I would love to hear someones story that finally figured out what was going on with all this.

i'm going through the exact same thing as every one else,i stopped the patch in sept and my period still hasn't started, we're trying to get pregnant, but it's kinda hard not knowing what is going on with my body.

hey guys I have been on the patch 4 years .Got off it on the week off got my period and now waiting it to come again but from all the stories it dont look like its going to come for a while I hope so cause me and my husband are going to try to have a baby am really worried this my cause me not to have kids :(

I was on the patch for two weeks and stopped taking it because I was having crazy mood swings and was feeling entirely different than my normal self. That was on dec. 29, then I got my period on jan 7, but haven't gotten my period yet in February. I was starting to worry that I'm pregnant, but after reading eveyone's comments, i'm thinking missed periods are a common occurance in women who've used the patch. I'm still getting all the symptoms of my period though, just no period. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE PATCH FOR ANYONE!!

I've been off the patch a few different times, and I've never had a problem with my period coming on its own. My periods werent regular before the patch, but they are with & without the patch now. But best of luck to you all.

Hello. I was on the patch for about a year, but came off of it due to the major side effects i heard about it. I had my normal period after taking off.. but now im late. Is it normal for your periods to be really late after coming off the patch?

I uesd to be on the patch for almost 2 yrs and that was on 2001. My son is six yrs old Iv been trying to have a baby befor i hit my thirtys am 26 and i only have one kid.the sad part is when my son tells me he lonely and bored that he needs a sister or a brother and when he told me that it made me want to cry it been 2 yrs that he's been asking me.and what gets me madd is i had so many test done and one doctor told me i could'nt have any kids any more and the another told me i look normal and that i could have kids so am confused and its been 6 yrs already with the same old story.

ummm i was on the pill for about 3 months, and then i got on the patch. the patch fell off for once but it was for no more than 48 hours in fact it was probably just 24 anyways I'm 4 days late on my period and i am really worried has this ever happened to anyone. and im not on any medication that could have harmed the patch when i was on it.

Oh my God!! I after reading all these stories I get worried becuase I was on the patch for about 5 years last year in nov 2008 me and my boyfriend decided to stop using it because of my mood swings ..and so..right after I stop I got my period and twice in a month so my doctor told me it was "normal" I got back on it becuase I was scared of getting pregnant but I just got married and this last april I got my last period ..im not using the patch or anything and its been almost 2 months with out a period Im worried about the stupid side effects after reading all these stories I will visit my doctor tomorrow and see whats going on because all my pregnancy test come negative

Hey there I just found this website and saw the convo's going on. I have been on the patch for 4 years as well, that's why I figured I'd write you. I am about to get off and try to concieve. Are you pregnant yet? Or if so how long did it take you and what did your body go through when you got off of it? Thanks!

ok. so I got my period almost a week ago and now I just need to wait and see how long before I get pregnant.!! at first its weird because I had some hot flashes and mood swings, but i fell kindo of normal now and its only been 3 months since I got off the patch.I'll post any news regarding whats going on with me.

Omg.. im going through all that right now. I was on the patch for two months, I just got off of it because it made me feel so sick... I want to have a baby, im late with neg. pregnacy test.
