I should have searched this months ago! I too, like someone who posted earlier, am having to take Xanax at least once a week due to panic attacks. Simple stress related events I cant handle anymore, and I work in a super stressful environment, so you can imagine what a mess I come home like every day... Its effecting my job performance, and I hate it! I havent ever felt like this in my life. I've been on tri sprtintec for a year. Its really too bad my script just was filled for 12 months. Can we request name brands or do we have to take what is written on the script? What other similar products are available? Luckily, I havent had any of the other symptoms like breast tenderness or headaches, but I would rather have both of those than this high level of anxiety 24/7.

I have been on Ortho Lo for about 10 years and loved it but recently switched to Sprintec when my company revamped our coverage and 1 pack was $80. This Sprintec is terrible! I could cry one second, be anxious the next. Besides shortness of breath, increased blemishes and some tenderness, my brain feels foggy all the time with a funny feeling in the back of my head. I am having trouble concentrating on anything or remembering things. I feel like I am in a dream at times. I don't drink or smoke and nothing else has changed so it must be the new pills! Beware!

I've been on this pill for well over a year now. I have been having extreme paranoia, extreme anxiety, mood swings, headaches, blurred vision, and very weird vaginal irritions (not in that order). I have been trying for months to figure out what's wrong with me (and the paranoia and anxiety haven't helped much with this). Last night while I was lying in bed, I realized ITS THE DAMN PILL!!!!
I'm stopping this immediately!!!!

Ladies about 2 years ago I began writing on this blog because I too suffered from taking the pill. I just want to encourage you to go to planned parenthood and getthe pills from them, you may have to pay a once a year consultation fee with a nurse but then only $20.00 (this is what I paid in FL). Switch that pill as soon as possible and I would try to avoid getting medication for the side effects of this horrible pill. I saw about a year ago something about a lawsuit against the manufacturer of this pill, but due to my crazy life I didn't follow up. If someone would like to research it and fight those guys that will be great. Good luck and I am confident a couple of months after stopping the pill you may come back to normal, at least that is what happened to me. Today I am my old calm self.:) MG

I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for 6 years or so, and switched to Tri Sprintec about 3 weeks ago due to insurance dispensing this instead. About a week back I noticed a lot of new hives/rashes that looked like bug bites so I thought maybe I had bed bugs. I'm currently living in Singapore and started traveling about 3 weeks back, so I figured I may have brought them back from my trips - but the person I was with both trips has not had any symptoms and we were in the same bed. Could this be an allergic reaction to the new medication? Has anyone had rashes and intense itching like it could be bug bites?

Glad I'm not going crazy! I took ortho tri cyclen lo for almost ten years before getting pregnant and starting my family. After my baby I wanted to go back to that pill but realized I was paying $80 a month! Had my doctor switch me to tri sprintec and it is terrible! My headaches/migraines went from 1 a month to 2-3 a week with blurred vision. The past week I have been extremely nauseous. I've also been extremely moody and anxious for the past 2 months. Can't believe it took me this long to make the connection. Really wish I could afford my old pills :(

I've been on sprintec for 2 weeks. The first week, I had EXTREME nausea, all day every day. As soon as I was done with the first week, nausea stopped. Now, my boobs are swollen and they HURT!! Not the best way to get bigger boobs because they hurt so bad! I have mild cramps and spotting. My mood and sex drive are the same, and my skin in much much clearer. I might give it a few more weeks, hoping that my body adjusts to it.

I have never, not one time in my life, felt the need to write in a forum......until now. I am 5'4 and 120 pounds. I am a big time runner (just for fun, relaxation, etc.) and I started this pill one week ago (today was the first pill of the second week). I have been in a relationship for over 2 years and explained to my boyfriend that I did not think this pill was right. I know my body very very well and am very conscious about how it acts and reacts, especially with my dedication to working out and staying fit. I would consider myself overly in tune with my body.
This past week I have had nonstop headaches, feeling sick to my stomach, bloating abnormally (which my weight has not fluxuated more than 3-4 pounds since High School due to my working out/running schedule)...and I'm 23.
Worst of all, above all the other crazy symptoms, I read the second forum and gasped. I never get yeast infections and thought it was just a slight itch that has kept me up the past few nights. After reading that post, and feeling absolutely disgusted that the pill did that, I realized it started when I started taking the pill (Tri-whatever).
Nonetheless, even when knowing the health risks associated with ANY birth control, I threw the pack away 5 minutes ago. Not worth it to me, and I could have just read the weight gain part and thrown it out, let alone ALL OF THE ABOVE.

I have been taking Tri Sprintec for about 2 years and have had none of these side effects. Maybe I am just lucky? I have panic disorder and have not noticed an increase in my anxiety since taking the pills either. I guess everyone's body reacts to things differently. Good luck to you all, I hope you feel better!

To keep it short and sweet one year ago I was diagnosed with multiple blood clots in both of my lungs, also I spent 2 weeks in the hospital gettins shots in my stomach due to these pills. After that I spent 1yearon cumadin, a blood thinner. Its the worst thing I ever gone through in my life. Beware!

I haven't noticed anything abnormal, as a matter of fact my periods have never been so normal. I was previously taking YAZ and had a terrible time with breakthru bleeding and moodiness. I haven't had one single issue with the tri-sprintec. My gyno told me that all women experience different things with all birth control pills. What is right for one woman may be totally wrong for another. Actually I seem less anxious and moody with these than I did with the YAZ.

Reading this reminds me of when the same thing happend to me, I was switched to generic tri lo sprintec from ortho tri cyclen lo which I had been on for 6 years. My side effects were anxiety and head aches and blurry vision. Then one day I go to pick up the monthly packet at cvs and she said tri lo sprintec was recalled so your back on ortho tri cyclen lo, same thing. Okay sure now I'll start paying you 25$ a month when tri lo sprintec was only 5$ for me in my city insurance plan. Where wa the call from my OBGYN who prescribed me to this bullshit?! Enraging what their doing to women these days, like it's the 1950s and premarital sex was forbidden. Can we even be provided a north control that is truly safe? I'd like to research eastern methods on birth control and be natural of these pharmisutical companies monopolizing on our femininity. who="Melissa"]I was so glad when I found this forum. I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen for the past two years up until this past September when my insurance company switched to the generic, Tri Lo Sprintec. For the past three months I have developed horrible anxiety, panic attacks, head pain, and vision problems. I felt like a completely different person. I was so scared by all of these changes that I actually started seeing a therapist and went to my primary care doctor to have a work up. My doctor sent me for bloodwork and an MRI on my brain to rule out all possibilities. It turns out that everything is fine. Nothing showed up in my bloodwork or MRI results. Since the only change was with my birth control he suggested I look into it. That's when I came upon this forum. Reading everyone's troubles with this generic birth control really enrages me. It seems to me that this medication has negatively effected the lives of many women. I am so upset by this that I am going look for a way to have this brought to public attention. A medicine with these type of side effects should not be allowed to be marketed without warning. When I heard that I was going to be switched to a generic I was very nervous. The pharmacist told me that there was no difference between the name brand and generic. They way I see it is that something has to be different in order to make it a generic version.

This drug is rediculous. I didn't think my birth control could do something like this to me... I started taking it about 3 months ago ( exactly when my boyfriend and I started dating--lucky him, huh.) and my hormones when CRAZY. I had severe anxiety, constant worries about anything I could think of, constant dull cramping, loss of appetite, fatigue, ZERO sex drive, and I had no tolerance with anyone. I immediately turned to Prozac and Xanax. At first I thought I was just freaking out over a new relationship and thinking maybe he wasn't right for me, but that was the devil drug playing mind tricks on me. DO NOT TAKE TRI SPRINTEC or any close generic form. I have an amazing boyfriend and amazing life and this bc pill made me feel like I had no control of my life. I'm afraid to think of what could have happened to me emotionally and physically if I had taken it any longer. I just stopped taking it yesterday and switched to my old bc, ocella. I feel like a load has been lifted off my shoulders and I'm hopeful everything will work out for the best. Good luck to everyone with the same problems lots of people seem to be having with this drug.
