Desogen (generic Apri)

i have been getting very irregular periods sometimes lasting 2-4 days than the same month I'll get another one. Lots of cramping bloatin and awlful headaches etc. this is the third month I havent gotten a period at all. My dr put me on it because I was having heavy periods every two weeks. It really does help with the cramps whem I do get it and I barely get acne.

I was on Apri for about 6 months and then i found out both of my lungs were filled with blood clots.(PE) I am not a smoker, i was very healthy. This has changed my life, the doctors said i was lucky to be alive, they said if i had waited 2 more days i would not be here. I am now on coumadin, and its horrible! I hear its a form of rat poison. I would advise you all against this birth control. I am now unable to take any birth control for the rest of my life. You never think it can happen to you, but it can. I was taking desogen for about one month.last.november.i developed gastritis and last week.i find out I have stones.in my golbladder.aka gollstones.. I have to get it removed.asap

I've been on Apri for almost 2 months. I'm 5 ft tall I weighted at 100 lbs. i've gained 8 lbs. I also noticed an increase in apetite, more tired, and irritable.

Is There a difference between Apri and Desogen?

I am on a generic form of Apri (Reclipsen) and it worked fine... until I had hammertoe surgery. My doctor did not take me off the BCP and now I have a blood clot in my left thigh. Still trying to figure out exactly what caused the clot, but most likely a combination of BCP and immobility after surgery.

LADIES, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT BCP BEFORE HAVING SURGERY THAT WILL RENDER YOU IMMOBILE.
