My husband read something in penthouse that was talking about a new birth control pill that will increase sex drive. Has anyone heard about this? If not what is a good pill to be on if you dont want it messing with your sex drive... Any info would be great. Thanks

I went through two birth control pills before I found one that worked. Desogen sucked away my sex-drive like no other. I've been very happy with Lessina. My libido is normal AND it doesn't make me queasy. And because it's been around for a while, more insurance types will pay for it.

My advice to women trying to find a pill is to 1.) be working with an OB/GYN and 2.) keep trying. There are so many kinds and so many types of progestin that every one is pretty different. I would recommend taking iron supplements, though, if you struggle with break-through bleeding in-between.

I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 2 months now. I am more miserable than ever! Mood swings are crazy, I'm over emotional and I have NO sex drive. It's making me and my fiancé insane. Sex seems like a chore since I've been on this pill and it used to be such a pleasure. The worst part is that he thinks it's his fault, when really it's this dumb pill!

I'm finishing this pack and switching to another brand. I don't recommend Ortho Tri-Cyclen to anyone. I've done research on it and it's been proven that after taking it for a long period of time, some women never get their drive back.

I had taken birth control pills for about 5 years. After college, I was left without insurance and could not afford them. So, for 2 1/2 years I have not been taking the pill and for most of this time I have gradually been losing my sex drive. This is putting a huge strain on my relationship with my husband too! I recently scheduled an appointment to talk to a doctor about this, but I'm curious about other's opinions. Do you think going off of the pill can actually diminish sex drive?

im really scared for my sex drive and affection to go away/ decrease. im in a relationship with my boyfriend who i loveeeeee to death and i show my love for him a lot through physical affection and contact of course emotionally too but physicalness is a big part for me, makes me feel extra close to my loved one. anyways my doctor put me on tri-lo-sprintec and ive heard some things of it giving less sex drive but for the most part for a younger girl would that side affect still occur with me? im 17

To Confused: My initial reaction when I read your comment is that your lowered sex drive may be caused by stress - stressed that no birth control will lead to pregnancy. Try going to Planned Parenthood; they sometimes provide free birth control pills to women with no insurance

I went on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo when I was 18. Everything was absolutely fine. Over this past summer, the insurance switched me to the generic Tri Lo Sprintec and things are still fine. I am the same way with my boyfriend. I absolutely love him and need that sex drive to show it. So far, everything has been fine for me.

Do NOT switch to Trinessa. Worst decision you'll ever make.

I also went on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo when I was 18, and my new insurance coverage recently switched me to Tri Lo Sprintec. My sex drive is also normal, but I've had wicked awful cramps. Worse than I've had in 2 years.

The best advice I could give anyone, is that everyone's body is going to react to the pill a little differently. It's up to you to experiment and see what works for you.

I'm on Norinyl.... my sex drive was always fairly healthy, simply die to my curious nature, but this pill.... is a god send. I am incredibly almost torturously horny, i have lost weight but noticed a fuller, firmness in my breast, the only downfall is right after the period i can become sad, but that typically lasts only a few days.

sweet jesus.

That's totally true my bf and I started with just condom and then i decided to take the tri sprintec. My libido went down the drain and I feel so bloated all the time. I thought it was because me and bf and getting too comfortable as we go along but hearing all the complaints about this pill confirmed to me that it's not me it's the pill. I also use to masturbate a lot but now I dont anymore. This pill sucks, I'll talk to my OB GYN again and get another prescription

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Gemini

It's a red letter day for relationships under the Lunar Eclipse in your house of significant others, because you're facing some important and far-reaching changes to some of them. The pressure has been building since the Gemini Solar Eclipse on May 20. f you've known for some time that things aren't working out, you're about to reach a crisis point as becomes obvious that the present situation can't continue much longer. The coming New Moon in Gemini on June 19 will see progress of one kind or another, though this unusual eclipse cycle will have a far-reaching effect. You may have to be cruel to be kind, or more forceful than you would like, in order to get your point across, but do you really have any viable alternative?
