We are all sex 'addicts', that is how we make more sex 'addicts'. Almost every thing we are revolves around genereating the next generation.

the problem is when deviations take place that are outside of the social norms, like incest/pedophilia to name a few. and what makes it worse is when idiotic 'sex' therapists make it into something it is not, for a living.

I agree with all of you. This is such a sham. It's not an addiction, it's a personality dysfunction that makes you think you're entitled to this behavior because you think you're powerful (whether or not you're in a powerful job).

What criteria do we use to determine which "sexual acts" are "improper" and which are not? This article seems to be more than a little bit judgemental.

Now that is where you are wrong. Sex is not nasty. Sex within a marriage between one man and one woman is never nasty. It is GODS way. It is what sex is supposed to be. Between a man and a woman in a loving marriage. Everything else outside of that marriage is NASTY! Get it! Understand it! Practice it!!

Understand this dummy. Sexual acts (any) outside of a marriage are improper. Get that!!! Its not hard. It is simple.

i think this cheapens the term "sex addict" for those actually afflicted with the syndrome. sex addiction has actually ruined lives and marriages, and if you have never been a victim of addiction- to anything- you probably won't get it. the object of addiction becomes a need. you feel terrible when you don't have it and crave it so much that you can't concentrate on anything other than getting that next fix.
but saying, "oh, many of the men in charge in washington, dc are victims of sex addiction," reads as bullshit to me. for them, i'd say it's simply abuse of power. there may be one or two, sure, but saying it's so common a thing? nah- i doubt it.
