Second,I am not African, i am african american, so i do not spend my day concerned with africa just like i am sure the average african doesn't spend their day waorried about the U.S. Next, I am not attcking Africa about this topic. I got on here with interest in a possible aids vaccine, and i think it is a medical breakthrough, if it works, and i think it is great that they have come far enough on one to try it on humans. What you need to is take the time to read the post and see what it says instead of trying to belittle people. AIDS is a problem everywhere, not just Africa and this is important. If you are offended because I asked how can they tell the vccine works, it is a legit question. We know the flu vaccine works because they are able to test it and see the effects of the vaccine which is not a death sentence if it doesn't work, on the other hand with aids, it is. So that is my question. there is more to reading then just knowing what the words on the page mean, there is comprehending and understanding what you read as well, work on that. Your being an African American doesn't change anything and your attitude towards Africans means nothing to me, my concer is South Africa, your relationship with Africa is not my business. Its good that you know that putting or not putting a question mark makes a big difference in the message. Education has its place in the lives of people and in societies. In future, make sure you don't forget to put it if and when you are asking a question. I'm not offended I'm simply responding to what you posted which is a crap given the fact that you left out a question mark which changed everything.

Not everybody is preoccupied with race and hides behind racism when he can't explain himself. African Americans cannot debate without dragging race into everything, you lot are just as racist as any other American. If you are into teaching go and teach the illiterate African Americans, I don't need that and stand by my reply to you.

This is the reason why Africans are viewed as rude in this country. You jump down my throat becasue I asked a question, and forgot the question mark. But I would imagine that the remainder of my post would have stated my position, not to mention the post I made two post after that. I am not concerned with race, I mention I am African American because African Americans are being hit by this disease the hardest in this country. I am concerned about the health and safety of all people, not just blacks, africans or whites, but everyone. You can stand by you response to me, that just shows how ignorant you are for not being man or woman enough to stand up and say, my bad i thought it was a statement. Admit your faults and it makes you a stronger person. I just don't understand why now that the air is clear you are arguing with somenoe who agrees with you? That is a question.

Of those who are not Africans only fools and failures want to be Africans. You are right I'm not an African I'm a South African. I have nothing to be proud of in Africa north of the Limpopo river. How does it feel to spew racist and Afrocentric rhetoric from a white man's land. What African shithole do you hail from? I don't expect you to disclose it. Enjoy the run down flat your white landlord is renting out to you.

I have no reason to argue with you, my duty was to reply to your rhetoric statement which I did. By now you should know the importance of punctuation marks, question marks, comas, full stops, etc. in writing. How Africans are viewed in that country is none of my business, I have no relations with those Africans and am not interested in how they are treated and how they conduct themselves, I don't care why they are there, what I care about is that I don't live and don't want to live in the US, the attitude in that country towards Africans doesn't affect me.

Imagine me telling someone I taught Daking something and felt good when I don't even know who Daking is.

To learn in this life does not require you know who the teacher is. That's what a forum is all about and it's also why we're anonymous from one another. If you have something meaningful to share, share it, and accolades be da**ed!

Nothing meaningful is shared on Topix, I keep anything meaningful to share for news sites where people go to make some well thought out comments which are good or bad and which I might agree or disagree with. Topix is a gossip forum more than anything.

i'm more interested in knowing whether this is the same "vaccine" that was actually discovered 10 yrs ago.
as i recall, student doctors at the university of stellenbosch, not cape town, discovered it. it was publicised and they had a line up of volunteer patients begging to be "used' for testing who were either dying from aids or infected by it, and the govt turned them down flat and refused to allow them to proceed. there's lots of foreign income funding to be made from aids as long as a cure is not officially discovered....
interesting, but i guess we'll never know.
