Has Swine Flu Been Oversold?

Full story: ABC News

A new analysis, using H1N1 deaths in the United States in the spring and projecting likely outcomes for this fall, shows that a typical -- or possibly even a milder flu season than average -- should have been expected.

I'm not sure. If they had done nothing and the H1N1 turned deadly, we'd all be screaming. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Yes, the pharmas are always standing with their hands out. But an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
The media is largely responsible for the hype as is often the case. Hey, they've got to make a buck, too.

Don't for a moment buy into H1N1. All the pharms have access to 1918 Spanish flu stuff. They have been playing with live viruses that have the same receptor sites as 1918...H1N1 H1N2. And now there is D225G. Google the Ukrainian epidemic. It is ugly, very ugly.
As to an ounce of prevention...See if you can pull up IMVA's site and baking soda.[In the early 20's Arm and Hammer found sodium bicarb staved off Spanish flu in many cases. Of course, in today's PC world, the FDA prevents such claims.]

Remember when Anthrax was the big scare? Reports of it being mailed in plain envelopes, post office shutdowns due to possible Anthrax and such?

Remember the avian bird flu? A pandemic worry that swept accross the world.

Now is swine flu. Not saying these things did not exist, cause they did... HOWEVER, we got things to worry about which are actually much more common and much more problematic for our society.

I work in San Francisco, and we are always hearing about "the big one" and that statistically, it should be coming in the next 20 years. I guess people feel the same about a great pandemic sweeping through the world and cutting down our 6.5billion population to something a bit more sustainable. The scary part is, I believe it will happen too... just don't know when and how bad it will be.

But global warming is not at all false and nobody is denying it. The only debate is how much humans can do to slow it, not that it's happening. For some things it's better to error on the side of safety if all it takes is being more ecologically friendly. Even if it turns out to be wrong and humans can't do anything to slow global warming, being more ecologically friendly will do nothing at worse... but at best, can be a very good thing for everybody. At our population growth, it's only a matter of time before we will be forced to find better and cleaner ways to do things. If left in a milk jug to multiply, even ants will overfill it eventually.

Read up on HAARP and how it can create very low frequencies that can alter things from weather to brain functions.

Didn't San Fransisco get snow this week? Like, a lot of it? I don't buy into global warming. Yeah, for a while there things were heating up, but now things are getting colder. Texas got snow in HOUSTON. I don't think it has ever snowed in Houston in my life time. It gets hot, it gets cold, it is NATURAL, it has been happening for eons. I'm on board with finding better and cleaner ways to do things for the sake of keeping the world nice and clean, but actual global warming is a myth. BTW- The #1 "greenhouse gas" is WATER VAPOR.

I don't think you can use isolated examples to show that global warming is not happening. There is proof of it... from polar ice caps which have been around for thousands of years now melting, mountains in alaska which used to be covered in snow year round no longer have snow for several months a year, permafrost melting... these things are not debatable, they are happening. As I said, no scientist is denying global warming... the only debate is how much of it is caused by humans and if we can do anything to slow it. You're funny if you don't believe it's happening... that's about as silly is still believing the world is flat and that having sex with a virgin will cure Aids.

Since there has been some "global cooling" of late, and combined with "climategate", it is becoming apparent that the entire "global warming" thing was a way to sell "carbon credits" and scam people and companies into giving away their hard earned cash.

Yah! It snowed in Tampa!
No, wait, that was in 1976. I saw it.

Water? Of course it's dangerous, but it keeps the planet warm and there is no question of the amount of water on the planet changing much. Actually, global warming is not a myth, it's what makes the planet habitable, but too much CO2 and some other things could make it a lot less habitable.

If it were a myth it would still be useful to get the air cleaned up. I'm tired of breathing crap from industry and smokers. Clean up those factories and cars, I say. Outlaw smoking, I say.

Water? Dangerous stuff. I've heard of people drowning in it.

Sorry, but the figures are in today. This has been the warmest decade and the last decade was warmer than the one before it. You are only fooling yourself by denying the facts. Remember, denial is not a river in Egypt.

So, what happens when the brainiacs try to inject CO2 into the earth? What will carbon and oxygen bond with? I don't think anyone has thought this out.
Note: No one has gone out of their way to promote planting more trees.

Every time I hear about that they say the cost is too high, so for the moment that isn't going anywhere. I doubt that it would cause a problem by reacting to anything because carbon dioxide is pretty inert, isn't it? Plants use it by adding energy from sunlight.

I know of tracts where trees are planted. You can spot them because the trees are in rows. I don't know if it's being done enough.

No, what they want to do is starve out the plant kindom, which will result in the end of all life on this planet. All, just to make some quick cash selling "carbon credits". All the while, paying off pseudo-scientists to run around like chicken little trying to scare the public into submission. Of course, any scientist who disagrees with the pseudo-theorists is quickly demonized by the press, and dismissed as not knowing what they are taliing about..........
