nana jo,

We are not doctors- this is a public forum. Assuming you are right about the Singulair causing his anger/moodiness, if you take him off of it without discussing it with his doctor- what effect might that have on his asthma? I suggest you discuss this with his doctor, who knows his medical history, why he's taking it and what the alternatives are.

My grandson has been on singular for 2 years. He was always happy go lucky before this drug. Now he is extremely angry, can't seem to settle down and always moody. Before singular he was the happiest easy going child you could ever imagine. I would like to have his mother take him off the drug. Would a good saline solution in the nose morning and night help him. He has some allergies but this medicine is doing more harm than good. It breaks my heart he is so moody. thank you for your time
This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone having this type of side effect, I take
the adult singular and I know a few parents that give there children singular dose of the drug and love it and have had no problem with it. I would take your child to Your familly Doctor for some blood work to see it there is something else going on or to see if he is having a allergic reaction to singular. But that is the only way to know for sure...

<quoted text>I just recently started taking singulair again, I was curious if there were bad side effects with your son.
My son has been taking this for about 2 years now and there has been nothing from what I see. They told me to have him take it before he goes to bed.

There is absolutely NO PROVEN DATA to support the allegations made. Scientific data does not support most of what the cretin states!
Can we ask you to please qualify your statement? The individual in question seems well informed, so if you're going to call him names and say he knows nothing, back it up or you're the one that looks like a "cretin"!

Thanks for your support, MMM, but don't hold your breath waiting for a reply from the good doctor.

My 24 mo old son has been using Pulmicort and albuterol as needed for 7 months. Before this time he was sick constantly, pneumonia 4 times in 3 months, and hospitalized twice. Our new pulminologist prescribed the nebulized Pulimcort 2X daily. Our son's health improved so much that he is now down to treatment just once daily, and we haven't needed to use albuterol in almost 2 months! Our son was diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease, meaning his lungs could not fight off respiratory infections like common colds or flu. This has been a miracle for us, he is healthier now than he ever has been!

Schering-Plough ITSELF admits on its Proventil HFA homepage (6th paragraph from the bottom): "RAPID HEART BEAT, VOMITING, CHEST PAIN and PALPITATION OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY WITH PROVENTIL HFA (than with CFC albuterol)."

Hello Grant,
It has been 5 1/2 years since you posted this question, but I ran across it today as I was searching online and was hoping you could shed some light onto why you asked this (providing you can remember). My 4 year old daughter had an anaphylactic reaction to her MMR vaccine in September and, ever since, has had asthma symptoms (hospitalized twice). I have been unable to find any information linking the two, but I am curious why you asked this. Any help would be appreciated!!

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Virgo

Life catches you unawares today but for once you don't really mind. A friend is likely to ring up with an exciting suggestion or you could receive a spur of the moment invitation that's too good to refuse. An interesting encounter is also on the cards, especially when you're brought together through unusual circumstances.
