Thanks Wheezer! I'm pretty poor, but bought 3 double packs from drugstore.com right at the end of the year,(143.00 total) so that's why I still have 5 and a half left.

Tried drugstore.com today, and they have a nice little message about cleaner air and how the company that makes it says they will have a "suitable" replacement by July 2012. I'm surprised Amazon can still sell them. I hope when I do need another one I don't have to pay 60 - 200 bucks for it, that $143 was a whole month's electricity bill!

I had put an order in at drugstore.com right before the banned date and they accepted the order then cancelled it. I have 3 more refills coming from Amazon that cost me 179.00. I have roughly around 130 inhalers most with the mouthpiece. I think that will be all I buy. I will NOT spend 179 or 200 bucks for ONE inhaler. Price gouging SOB's. I use about one a week I hope that will cover me until they put out a substitute.

guess that i'm one of the lucky ones. ive found an albuterol inhaler that works for me. i'm not going to using the two PMs that i have. unopened and exp 4/2013. tried to sell on eBay, but they keep pulling the listing classifying PM as Drug / Drug Paraphernalia...wow. i will sell both for $100 and ship to you for free.

Primatene Mist has already been pulled from the RiteAid shelves...I am SO NOT HAPPY. Good going f'n government, who cares about the asthma suffers who have NO INSURANCE!!! What about our rights to breathe??!!?? Anyone know if there's a cause trying to appeal this move??
I'm with you! I'll sign a petition to have primatene put back on the shelves! I can't afford to go to the doctor to get a new perscription every time I run out of inhaler. Its to expensive for the medication let alone paying to see a doctor. Perhaps we should all write to the FDA and tell them to pull their heads out of their butts!

Exactly! At the very least, we could possibly fight to get them to temporarily put Primatene Mist back on the shelves until the new one becomes available. It's a thought!

The last time I checked, yes, the tablets were still available, but that was before 12/31/11.

If you overuse it one may become dependant on it. Advair is better or a small O2 machine is not as likely to to attribute to HTN.

I have very few of the units left. I am trying to wean myself off of them, knowing even so that they won’t last for much more than a few months, after which of course, I will die miserably.

My breathing is very loud. The wheezing sometimes keeps me awake at night, and is embarrassing in public, not to mention physically uncomfortable at the same time.

The knowledge of my certain and imminent death is like living on death row, each passing day bringing me closer and closer to the last gasping breath.

This is legally-sanctioned natural selection. And so many of the people who legislated against Primatene would vote pro-life / anti-abortion--here they’ve supported the murder of thousands of us. To them, our lives are worth less than that of an unborn fetus.

. No- it isn't a" Rescue Inhahler. Better yet, it contains along acting bronchodilator AND a component for inflammation. Pure epinephrine is useful but powerful. Topical use in a "emergency" is a misnomer. If it does not cause a hypertensive crisis. THAT may be a emergency. Keep NTG.

I use pulmicort in a nebulizer twice a day for that.the only thing that helps me in an emergency is either primatene or real albuterol which isn't available anymore either

I have been using PM for 35 years. It works great for me. It isn't the environmentalists that are pushing the ban of this stuff because of the cfc's. It is the drug companies and the medical field. One PM inhaler usually lasts me for 4-5 months. One of those that the doctor gives me lasts for 1 month. Primatine costed me $20.00 an inhaler and the stuff the doc gave me was $44.00. Ok, in order to get the "doctor's stuff" (prescription), I had to pay the clinic $200.00 for a 10 minute visit! Then they only gave me ONE refill. So, if I want more, I have to make another appointment with my doctor!!! Do the math and who is getting screwed??!!!! BTW, Primatine Mist worked BETTER than the prescription stuff!!!

Sorry MissMay,
If I didnt need the damn things myself I would and I wouldn't charge more than it cost me to get them..I unfortunately know all too well what your going through. In fact I am still trying to buy more but won't pay any more then 50 to 60 bucks a piece thats my limit. Even though I can afford more I wont pay that much just in principle.

I need Primatene Mist for 2 reasons: 1, my ProAir requires several hours between doses (not Primatene Mist) and 2, one shot of Primatene Mist will stop an asthma attack immdeiately (not the ProAir). I now denegrate the US government.
