Copper Bracelets, Magnetic Wrist Straps Worthless for Arthritis: Study

Full story: snafu-ed.blogspot.com

A U.K. study shows what most of us already knew: that copper bracelets, aside from turning your skin green, aren't really any good for anything. Neither, said the study, are magnetic wrist straps.

Can't wait to see these UK skeptics study pharma products for cost benefit ratios.

Moral: If you want to make money selling quackery then be credentialed and mainstream.

Nope....It's the FOOD THAT WE EAT...that is worthless. It gives you high-blood pressure, makes you fat, and ultimately ruins your health.

Some people become addicted to all kinds of grub, and when they look like hippos, they blame their thyroid gland, stress, childhood abuse, and everybody else.

Food used to be good and balanced, so even a homemade remedy for aches and pains like a simply copper bracelet actually worked........because it was a balancing act trying to balance another act, and it worked fine for so many people.

NOW.....even Humpty Dumpty is benign compared to some hippopotumuses I see in broad daylight, go figure!

A copper bracelet at best could have a placebo effect. If you believe in alien ancestors like Richard Heene does then there is no possibility of reasoning with you.

Stop pikkin' on me you little nut. I have never used a copper bracelet, but because I have heard so many people that do, AND have relayed the information to the rest of us, whether the 'placebo effect' had ANYTHING to do with it or not, is for me to argue or put words in their mouths.......okay. So stop it already!

Richard Heene is nothing but a manipulator, are so busy listening to stupid people with slanted views and ideas or are you actually watching the news?

I can't help it that Richard Heene professes a belief in alien ancestors similar to Scientology. He met his wife in acting classes in Hollywood so it should not be a surprise. They must have flunked their acting lessons.

LOL! Go get audited or whatever they call it. Then again, we denizens of Topix will tell you what is wrong. In one of the Yahoo! Groups I am in, the owner has gone on a wild kick posting anti-psychiatry links. On one, I could identify with a few of the points, but disagreed with most. And then I had to look at the about link. Guess who started this so-called "human rights" and anti-psychiatry site? So maybe I should tell the group owner that she is linking to some lunatics. I thought that site seemed a bit like stuff Tom Cruise would say, though he didn't start the site, though he and the site get their stuff from the same place.

What can I say? You've indirectly helped me with critical thinking skills. For instance, one of our Yahoo! Group members created a article in Conservapedia about our cause. Immediately after creating it, someone deleted the article and called it a pack of lies. We all first assumed a specific left-wing radical was responsible. Lets call her Andrea. Then I began to wonder how it could be Andrea. The idea of a mole in the group came to mind first, but it didn't quite seem like the work of Andrea. Realizing it didn't feel like Andrea being behind it as the others alleged, my curiosity was raised and I examined the edit logs and profile of the person who allegedly deleted the article. It couldn't have been her since a right wing religious fundamentalist was responsible that time.

That was actually a shift for me. I tell others not to jump to conclusions and automatically start blaming the right in regards to the rights of the group I am working with, and this time, I saw first hand a right-winger was guilty.

At least I am not as bad as the person who made an unusual "deposit" at his bank. There was an ongoing dispute with this bank, so he brought 20 tons of manure with him next time and dumped it right outside their door where nobody could get in the bank (well not that end of the bank).

I have always been intrigued by people who were gullible enough to fall for the copper bracelet, or the light wave things they are advertising now on tv. Some may actually get relief from a placebo effect. But the real issue is, -- if you are gullible enough to actually purchase one. A good summary would be Andy Kaufman and his cancer. He searched out any form of cure he could, and finally went to the Phillipines for 'surgery', but it turned out to be a sham. The 'psycic' was just a false hope, and that is all these other forms of ruse are.

This is just an example of a movement away from the rational thought of the enlightenment. Look around, how popular is "new age" medicine now a days? It's huge, but does any of it actually stand up to peer reviewed studies? No, it doesn't, but people don't care saying it works for them. A lot of people don't seem to want reason, it is much easier for them to just believe something.
