I've only been taking kadian for less than a month, but I can say it certainly makes a difference !!!!
Last meds for pain was not helping.

Never heard of it...I will talk to my doctor...back, neck, leg, hip pain for 6 years...6 herniated discs.always in pain...Thanks for the info.

I just started taking Kadian 150mg twice a day. I was taking MS Contin 100mg 3 times a day. I hope this works better for me. Ive had 4 back surgeries and 2 hip surg in the last 1 1/2 yrs. 2 level fusion with nerve damage due to cage failure. Ive been on all kinds of pain meds the past 3 yrs so if you have any questions about anything its possible Ive tried it.

I've been on almost every pain killer their is and kadian so far has worked the best. I also take oxycodone with it. It doesn't get rid of all the pain but at least I can function more.

Thanks for the info..and I know what you mean about "there is nothing we can do"...I have done all the stuff and try most of the meds, I have not tried the Kadian yet...I think it would help me...I did not do well on the oxycontin, after a few days I think it made my back and body bloated and made the pain worse in some ways. I have been using Kadian, ie, sustained release morphine, for over a year now. Its primary purpose is to alleviate pain with a single daily dose without the brain deriving pleasure from the medication itself but from the alleviation of the pain itself. As true pain sufferers know, pain relief is in itself a wonderful feeling without the entrapments which narcotics can lead to. It is a relief not to have the highs and lows assocciated with meds like vicodin and oxycodone or oxycontin. Pain sufferers know that sometimes just sitting down or turning over seems like a euphoric experience when the pain starts to wash away and you get some very temporaty relief. Such was and is the case also with short acting pain medications as well. Now Kadian has proven to be a godsend in its ability to provide a lasting pain free life without your mind constantly monitoring your pain and medication dosing. One dose in 24 hours. Go about your business. Of course every individual has different needs and dosing may be different for some. Perhaps a twice a day dosing would be better. Perhaps breakthrough medication will be needed as I require myself. If you have a good pain specialist like I have these are minor adjustments that you and he can work through.I hightly reccommend a pain specialist by the way since most regular doctors don't speicialize in pain as a specialty which it certainly is. But even if you see your regular family physician you should famialiarize yourself with the latest knowledge on pain meds and insist on getting the best care possible. Kadian incorporates some of the latest technology on sustained released morpine pain medication and I for one can vouch for its effectiveness. It leaves you with the pleasure to live your life in a more happier way, instead of thinking about your meds and state of your pain all day. I have been taking Kadian for nearly a year 100mg twice a day for 2 ruptured disks and severe authoritis. It does work very well on pain control without the euphoria commonly experienced with other narcotics like oxycontin. I also take 3 10/650 mg percocets per day for breakthrough pain. I do now have a good portion of my life back with minimal side effects

move to petoskey michigigan if you want pillss. i think we have the dumbest doctors.. but i have ligit chronic pain and i get 4 100 mg kadian a day and it works and i get 8 2m dilaudid a day also for bt pain.. i am getting quality pain relief. but why do people want my dilaudid? i dont give to them but i dont get it. is it supposed to be that good? but ya i have a good doc here who would really treat you no matter who you are.you really need to get a refferal to a doc who will give you pills. just keep trying

I am sure everyone with chronic back pain (and other pain) has been through the long list of pain meds...I read about KADIAN when I stopped in the chronic pain forum one day. I finally looked up the info, printed it out...quit going to the ortho md that ran out of answers long ago and took the info to my family doctor and what a difference it has made. You are right, there are no side effects, and it helps the pain quite a bit; I also take Percocet for breakthrough pain. I still have many limitations, but this is the first time in 6 years that I can at least get comfortable soemtimes and sleep through the night once in a while and get up out of bed and walk without excrutiating pain. All of us with chronic back pain, or I will say the majority of us just have to learn to live with it and thank goodness I tried the KADIAN because I do get pain relief. I know how everyone feels after months and months and years and years of pain..it makes you crazy...no one understands unless they have been through it. I have a back injury and for instance, I have been sitting here at the computer too long and I can tell I better get off or I will really feel it tomorrow; the KADIAN has allowed me to at least get a few small things done around the house and take a bath a few days a week, but I still have to spend a great deal of time in bed to not hurt my back, but I can get comfortable now sometimes...it is so much better and no "drugged" feeling...just some RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!

You snort Kadian? You need to get a grip. It's dopes like you that ruin for people with genuine pain.

This is for those idiots who chop up the Kadian and "snort" it up there nose..... why - why would one do that to a time release capsule thats not ment to be snorted . and please tell me .. Does it work better for you or does it just get you high by snorting it .. oh my God ... you need help

I think it's a real shame that someone has to resort to crushing something that istime-released and snorting it just to get high; this person probably doesn't have pain to begin with, at least not the physical type but definitley alot of the EMOTIONAL type of pain.

I think it does though help better or at least quicker with the pain because your ingesting it differently and quicker; but obviously it is dangerous especially if you've never taken narcotics before. Someone who is much more tolerant may not have a problem.

i used to crush up kadians and snort them but i found out u can crush them up throw them in a spoon cook it up and put it straight into your blood the rush is amazing better then heroine to me im not suggesting anyone to try this it is extremely addictive and extremely stupid im looking to stop here soon (i hope) and i cant believe how many ignorant people there r to this i heard about people snorting them prob 2 yrs ago. wish me luck and sorry if i upseted anyone and i do have pain from abuseing the pills, pain pill cause more pain in the long wrong but im sure your all know this takeing them for all these years.
