This article is highly irresponsible on the reporting of "alternative" treatment. As a person who has a Masters of Science in Health, I have been trained to evaluate research and there is no death of bogus research in all medical fields, especially with medications. I am also Licensed Acupuncturist. I read the literature regularly. And while traditional research methodology does not justify all acupuncture treatments, this article would be stating that the NIH for the past 10 years is ignorant to support the use of acupuncture for nausea and various conditions. If one reads the literature produced in China, acupuncture is highly effective. Why would it still be in existence after thousands of years if it were only reliant on the placebo effect?

And by the way, if anyone has ever taken Chinese herbs during a cold or flu, one would know how effective it is. The herbs are antimicrobial...the same herbs that are contained in Airborne. The trick is to take this product before actually becoming ill. Once someone is sick, the herbs need to change to address the stage of illness.

The Southbay area has many many acupuncturists and this article is an insult.

this is just a ploy to turn away peoples eagerness in finding other alternatives when such medicines as robitussum, flu shots, and pain medications have been makin people more sick.

there are negative side affects to using alternative medicine. anyone notice the commercials showing a happy smiling woman looking at some flowers as they run through all the negative side effects.

There is a serious side effect if it does not work: You go on being ill - or even worse; you die.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
