My name is Stephanie, I Am 17 years old. This is so crazy what you all have been saying! It's the exact same thing for me! Last week, Monday February 6th at four am I woke up with a major tummy ach! Like horrible, almost thought I had food posoing! Then by 7 am. The pain was more lower to my abdomen right side. Like really bad! I remember I was looking online think my appendix had burst because I was in so much pain. But no. Online just said. You'd be sick Nd want to throw up. So, I told my mom, and she took me down to our local clinic. Ps we live in a very remote town of 200. So our nurse took my temp and it was going up with me just sitting there. So she said, your off to the next town to get blood work done. So my mom drives me the hour and turns out my white blood count was at 15 apparently thats really bad!! So story short. They say, your going in the ambulance, you have appendicites. So, after a descion of a cat scan cause I'm a bran new body, an ultra sound shows free liquid, cat scan, appendicites. So I drive to a place comox and have the surgery. Called appendectomy? Yeah three small incisions. Now the wrorst pain ever is the air. I have what I call muscle pains like ramps from my collar bone to my rib cage, and I thought it was that, but this hasn't gone away. I had the surgery Tuesday at 11 pm. And left to come home Friday . And the really bad gas pain and air we t away around Monday. Ause I was walking so much . But yesterday it came back! And it's worse, cause I can't sleep, I can't stretch, I can barely breath in. So I guess there's still air in there and it's the worst!! Drugs don't work! But does anyone have suggestions? It's like I'm being stabbed or a very strong cramp like when your running and you drank water before. No doctor where I live and I don't want to pay for gas to go out. Any remadies?

try peppermint cordial if you can get it. My daughter liked to stand and rock on my shoulders. Hope that helps, my daughter said the pain was alot worse than the appendix. Good luck

I've had a lap-py for a cyst removal on Friday
I put anise seeds, cumin, fresh ginger pieces & cinnamon into a boiling pot of water (option: sweeten with honey or brown sugar), simmer for a while n put it in a thermos flask.
Been drinking it whenever I have the chance
It's Sunday morning and I feel a LOT better (gas-wise)
Hope it helps y'all n Good luck

This link seems to have some interesting advice. I haven't tried it, but I do plan to.

https://patienteducation.osumc.edu/Documents/...

I had a diagnostic laparoscopy on Friday. It's Sunday now. The most pain I've felt from this whole process has been the gas pain from the CO2. The second most has come from the catheter they did to empty my bladder during surgery. That pain is mostly gone though.

Had tubal done Fri. Right shoulder pain gets so bad I cant move it. A rn friend told me to move as much as possible. As I am typing this I am laying down rocking hips and is easing the pain. I also get on hands and knees and rock back and forth like my kids did when they were little. It works. Laying down is the worst!!! Good luck!

I was treated for both appendicitis and indometritis several nights ago and have had gas pains since. The doctors have no cure beyond peppermit water, peppermint tea, heat packs, walking and de gas pills. I cannot lay down and have needed morphine in order to sleep each night. My bowls and intestines are taking a while to wake up but there is still very little wind passing provinding little relief. I sympathise with all - this is worse than what got me in here in the first place!

I had a lap scope done yesterday. The chest pains come and go. If I get bad pains I kneel down and put my butt in the air like a stink bug it helps relieve the shoulder pain I'm just hoping it will go away soon.

I recently had my appendix removed yesterday . I called myself eating soup the day after surgery despite not having an appetite or eating in 3 days.. Pain pain! I feel like I need to pass gas but nothing and I mean nothing comes out. The pain is annoying and in comfortable . After a few hours of saying soup I was able to rest admits pain. This is not ok!

I had endometrial ablation 2 weeks ago. I was fine, no pain really just slight swelling of abdomen. This past weekend I had excruciating pain...assumed gas pains...could not release any to feel better. I did all of the following and got it out...2 days later mind you. I took stool softener, Gasx (just one), Advil, drank Lemon & Ginger hot tea every couple hours and did stretching exercises to release. It literally started releasing at one time... 3 hours of farting & burping...feel better now but what a terrible couple of days!

I'm not aware of any quick way or any tricks to get the CO2 out faster. It just takes time and moving around.
Here's a paragraph from a postop discharge sheet:
"You may experience some gas pains from residual carbon dioxide that may remain in your abdomen following the procedure. This pain usually presents as shoulder pain or sharp pain underneath your diaphragm. The pain is usually transient and will disappear in a day or two. It helps if you get up and move around while you are having this pain, and also if you drink either hot water or hot tea with fresh lemon. Heat, massage and exercise can also help to alleviate this pain."

I had a myomectomy via laparotomy 2 days ago. The nurses will not even allow me to drink anything until I pass gas. I have burped but no gas. How do they expect me to alleviate my gas without drinking? I walked as much as I could the day after my surgery because that's all they're telling me to do to relieve the gas. I've tried being on my hands and knees. I will walk even more today, but the pain is horrible.

I had my appendix removed about 2 weeks ago. And have also been having gas pains moving around my back and other spots. Spoke to a nurse that recommended me put a girdle on, walk more and ask the doctor for gas pills. Hope this helps. Good luck to you all.
