Oh you are a wizard, Gregory. How old are you. Do you realize the older you are or become, the more you will pay and pay dearly.

Ok, but the question remains open: who's going to pay for it?

Glimpse of the future, perhaps?

I think so, in about 10-20 years, when a new generation is stuck paying the bills for both national debt and elder-care.

After the federal government mandates that every citizen in the USA have health insurance, will their next project be mandated life insurance? Heaven forbid someone cannot afford to have a funeral exactly like his neighbor's!! Don't laugh, America, they mandated seat belts.

Something like 20 percent of the Federal budget goes to paying just the interest on the massive debt. If it wasn't for this debt, we could all have free health care

The guy presented an idea.I give him credit for that.Unfortunately the conservative response is who will pay for it. I don't want to pay the lazy people who don't deserve to have the med care.According to the Congressional Budget Office health care will rise from 16% of GDP in 2007 to 25% in 2025 and 49% in 2082.Conservatives don't seem to be concerned with who will be able to afford coverage in the not too distant future.

lol.. that does not count as an idea.... You first have to know what you are talking about in order to have a respectable idea... please... Health care will cost you and increase in cost no matter who pays.. when will people realize that.. Nationalized healthcare only exacerbates the issue, by introducing a one care solution that will knock out competition, and result in lower quality health care.. options are there for those not covered.. we have social systems that work... we need more consumerism in healthcare, not a tax payer paid solution of disintegrated quality.

And the massive debt beyond the areas where govt is required to supply services per the Constitution are mainly liberal programs. How do we stop these entitlement programs?

The guy had an idea which you believe to be simple. Your idea is just as simple because it boils down to us continuing to do what we are doing now. And that is the very system that needs to be altered.

You mean those entitlement programs for mega-corporations, many of which pay no taxes?

"I never posed an idea" (In your whole life)

What a surprise!! You know what they say about being part of the problem.

I love the "I don't want to pay for it" response. News flash!!! When someone without insurance walks into the ER without insurance, you ARE going to pay for it. You are just too dim-witted to figure that out.

Congress and the Pres are trying to formulate a program that will reduce medical expenses and increase the level of med care. People who will pay for it are the same people who are paying now. If I can get a program that will be less expensive, offer better services, and improve outcomes, I at least want to give it a shot.
You may say that that is no more then a dream. Maybe so. But was is not a dream is the fact that continuing with the present system will result in med care becoming unaffordable for most citizens before the end of the century.

I never posted an idea in this forum.. my bad! I was also not complaining.. i would have a solution if i were.. however, I am stating the status quo is far better than nationalized healthcare.. You are part of the problem.. yes, those with insurance help these people because the hospital will increase their cost to counter it, and insurance will reflect that cost in their renewal rates.. I am not dim witted, and actaully am very educated in this arena..

there was a good article in the New Yorker..you should read this..maybe it will help out..

I went to Rio last summer. As I was trotting through an intersection I actually passed out for a few seconds. I broke my wrist when I fell. I was taken to a doctor who exrayed my wrist, set the break and put it in a cast.Later I went to a heart specialist to check for the reason that I passed out. He examination included an EKG. Finally I had the cast removed. Total bill was around $250 if I recall correctly.Paid for it out of my pocket.
Just making a point. You get good care in countries outside the USA.
